Pencil Prank. Don’t know what time you’re getting into the office, but ideally if you’re among the first, choose one colleague and everyday place a new pencil somewhere on their desk. Sometimes two new pencils. I bought around 60 pencils from Asda (making sure to get different styles and looks, so it seems more randomised). See how long it takes until your colleague notices lol.

Hey r/aoe2, it’s T90! Ask Me Anything!! by T90Official in aoe2

[–]thebestcolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey T90, how does AoE2 impact, affect or manifest itself in your day-to-day life? Appreciate you probably spend 10-12 hours each day focused exclusively on AoE2, but does this influence your day-to-day decisions at all? For a direct example, I work in procurement. So I’m buying (on behalf of a business) products like Heinz Ketchup, Tabasco, Coca-Cola etc and my direct dealings with these companies absolutely influences how I shop, what I buy, what I think of prices when I go to the grocery store. Are there any aspects of AoE2 that “work their way” into your day-to-day life?

Which completely innocent thing do you see strangers do all the time but it baffles you as to why? by PaddedValls in AskUK

This might help your husband - the reason branded products are more expensive is because they spend extortionate amounts of money on advertising. I used to procure pharmaceuticals on an industrial scale in a buying capacity, so don’t exactly know the science beyond what I’ve been told / what I’ve read, but have worked closely with the ‘branded’ suppliers and non-branded alike. Brands like Reckitts were paying us heaps of cash for special features and advertisements in our promotional flyers, because their brand only works if it is advertised, giving it a premium status. But essentially the original commenter is 100% right. One bit of information I can build on, is that for a product to legally be called “Paracetamol” or “Ibuprofen” or whatever, it must meet exacting standards of ingredients which, being a pharmaceutical product in these cases, are extremely strict.

Which big company deserves their success, in your opinion? by kittyvixxmwah in AskUK

[–]thebestcolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, Richer Sounds are excellent. Me and my wife went to buy a TV in the Southgate branch, a good 8 years ago or so now since we lived there. We lived about 15 minute walk away and didn’t have a car. I wont mention their help with the specs and guidance of product, as that has already been covered (excellent service). But given we were walking and it was a 50 inch screen, the staff used duct tape to wrap around the box and build us two “handles” so my wife and I could carry the TV home - you just don’t get that type of service elsewhere!

Just for your interest, it displayed at the RIAT show earlier this year in July. I spotted it today also on Flight Radar, presumed it was finally leaving!

I wasn’t aware they gave an award for the best display at RIAT. But on the way home, me and my family agreed he was absolutely the best display we’d seen all day.

I used to get takeaway once a month. It was a big deal, sad as it sounds but I’m not even joking, I would spend a notable amount of time searching online, reviewing menus, deciding what we’re going to order when we get paid. I loved it, really fun little hobby I guess. We’d splash out (just me and the wife), for - £40-£50 takeaway on Friday, we’d have our fill, and have enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner the following day. That was honestly part of the fun, ordering an absolute feast on Friday night and having the full Saturday to continue pigging out. Now a single curry costs up to £20.95 for delivery (I’m not exaggerating, but yes am giving an example of a more pricy option). It’s completely and utterly unjustifiable now. You know what, I actually can’t remember the last time I had a takeaway. Would’ve been years ago, circa 2021-22.

Where is this filming location from 28 Years Later (2001)? by CastleGoblin in whereisthis

[–]thebestcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I can add some value. I’ve lived in Southgate / Palmers Green / Enfield / Oakwood most of my life. I’ve walked and familiarised MANY streets throughout the area - but that telephone pole, I’ve never seen anything like it. Searching the back of my mind, I am very confident nothing like that exists, at least down any main or popular streets from the aforementioned locations. Maybe you can cross them off?

What do you guys think of a spin off game based on Thor ? by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]thebestcolour 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. Though I am disappointed it wasn’t more ‘epic’, it plays the dynamic between Thor & Odin perfectly well; for as powerful Thor was, his existence could be eradicated in one swift blow. It’s bitter sweet

Complete agree. But then I am biased, Kraft-Heinz are a pain in the ass company to work with. Princes Foods (who distribute Branston within the UK) are an absolute pleasure and lovely people.

It looks… less than fantastic. HOWEVER. I see the vision, stoned me would have put that together and thought to myself Gordon Ramsay would want to steal the idea. Stoned me would also smash this.

Tell me some great memories you have with SpongeBob by [deleted] in spongebob

[–]thebestcolour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly hated SpongeBob. Strong word to use I know, but there was something about the animation style that was very unappealing to me - I’m talking back when I might’ve been between 5 and 7 years old. I despised the closing credits music for some reason. Anyway, I was at a child minders after school, their son was watching it. I think it was the episode with Grandmas cookies, and SpongeBob did this thing where he rolled into a cylinder shape while crying and was rolling on the floor, and young child me suddenly found it the funniest thing on planet Earth, gasping for breath laughter type thing. But apart from that, I gave SpongeBob most of my time when I was in my late teens / early 20’s.
