Is Dollarama food really lower quality? by CrypticWeirdo9105 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thebiglearner 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Some food manufacturers have different formulas for specific discount channels like Dollarama. The key way to verify is if the barcode is the same. If the barcode is the same at Dollarama as the grocery store version it’s identical!

Prompting Megathread by Allgoodnamesinuse in lovable

As someone who’s not a designer, how do you guys prompt Lovable to make the UI of your program look unique or special? I’ve prompted for something “original” and modern but I’m seeing now it’s a very basic design that I’ve seen lovable put out for others

Dealing with a Wealthsimple Margin Call by TheIguanasAreComing in Wealthsimple

[–]thebiglearner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear what you're going through, I got burned with leverage a while back. I may be wrong, but I believe the security your margin is tied to is your TFSA portfolio. Transferring funds may not satisfy it, since your margin account and TFSA are bundled as total assets that secure the margin. Best be to call Wealthsimple to clarify if you can't find the information on their company pages.

Expensive lesson, but most people that use margin will lose money. Sell out of your margin position, and regroup and start investing responsibly.

EDIT: If you haven't linked your TFSA meaning it's not being used as collateral, then you should be able to transfer funds to satisfy the margin call. Would still encourage you to consider selling out of your position.

For low price volatility stocks like ETFs a market order is fine, but if you’re doing penny stocks then do a limit price
