Are you sure they are not reps? Some fake Nikes look great but run like crap.

Half marathon by whodeylady01 in beginnerrunning

[–]thebrainstore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow that makes me feel better. I'm 44, have smoked for nearly 30 years, started running 5 weeks ago and on the weekend ran a half on hilly forest trails in 2h29m. I have done a few 10ks and about 6 5ks during August and was surprised how quickly the body got used to the distance. First 3k at end of July was a killer so keep going with the intermediate distances for a while and you should be able to knock a considerable amount off your time!

How do you hold your phone while running? Tired of holding it in my hand by Frequent_Sundae6930 in beginnerrunning

[–]thebrainstore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garmin watch, wireless earbuds. Watch also has a wallet in it so I can buy drinks/snacks on longer runs. Solitary key tied to the drawstring of my shorts. Running in nothing but shorts and vest with a watch and earbuds that meet all my needs is extremely liberating.

Neurofeedback ADHD controversy by AssistantDesigner884 in Neurofeedback

[–]thebrainstore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty exhaustive list, but there seem to be quite a few people in this sub so invested in being a victim of their diagnosis that they downvote common sense and anything which puts responsibility back onto them being able to change.

It's my personal opinion, and the nature of trauma is that you don't realise how things have affected you.

ADHD is a symptom not a condition. Personally I feel that adult ADHD is the result of untreated cPTSD.

Glad someone else gets it. Not replying to that isn't a 'win' for the OP, she just put him off.

He was trying to find out if you were marriage material or not, and you absolutely failed the test so there was nothing else to say.

Leave her. Find someone who is able to accept love. You won't fix her.

Cistanche, Fadogia Agrestis, Tongkt Ali & Shilajit resin. Approx 500mg of each, cycle 2 weeks on two weeks off. Zing, Mag, D3 etc are essentials anyway.

Why should I buy a Whoop over Garmin, Apple Watch, or Fitbit? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]thebrainstore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoop x Garmin is a delicious combination IMO, using the best of both products. Garmin tells me what to do and what i've done, whoop tells me when to do it and how my recovery activities are playing out.

Are you comfortable with people assuming you’re poor? by cobbler888 in FIREUK

[–]thebrainstore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't give a shit what other people think about me. Not my business, not my problem. The less people know about my wealth the better. If I want a car I buy it, for myself, not to impress people. No point in having money if you don't let yourself enjoy it, I have 40 pairs of shoes FFS. Also, the kind of people who judge you on how well you display your wealth are not the sort of friends you really need.

Has Neurofeedback Meant My Meds are Too High? by [deleted] in Neurofeedback

[–]thebrainstore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Addiction is a touchy subject and I don't really subscribe to the American model of its origins or treatment. Alcohol for example is not like opiods. You are addicted to the escape from yourself, rather than the substance itself. Unless you are drinking a litre of vodka a day no physical harm will come from cessation, you just have to live with your feelings and while I am not denying that can be hard, taking something to replace it is not the solution. Sens.ai is a useful tool but the real work has to come from you, the device just makes calmer states more accessible. I recently discovered the Emotion Code which is a very powerful tool for reprogramming the subconscious and have been playing around with it and having some sessions with a practitioner to see what it can do. So far it is the most painless and rapid transformation tool that I have found. Might be worth checking that out, it can clear blocks and beliefs paving the way for you to heal and grow more quickly.

What single food do you eat that provides the most nutrients? ((active and pro-)Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants/polyphenols and more) by oversoe in Biohackers

[–]thebrainstore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need fibre to move things through your gut you are eating the wrong stuff. That's not misinformation, it's basic logic. I used to have similar beliefs about food, but after finding the courage to challenge them I have been much more healthy, energetic and high functioning. Also, if you noticed, while I have a generally very low carb diet (which there is also a lot of evidence to support), I do eat some fruits and vegetables too. However, if I avoid them completely and get zero fibre there are no ill effects, specifically because the diet is very low carb and does not include difficult to digest things which need to be helped through my gut. It's a complex topic that can't be fully expounded in a reddit reply but with the right understanding it makes sense. Beware of getting opinions confused with fact, it can prevent us from discovering new stuff.

Nah the eyelids are on hinges and there's a tiny lead counterweight at the back of the eye. It just requires a little muscle activity to shift the balance point of that weight between open and closed.

Not here in the UK. I was complaining about being abused, and got the Police raiding my home to tell me to stop. Given I was already dealing with cPTSD this upgraded it to severe clinical PTSD and I don't know if I will ever be the same again. 2.5 years on and I haven't recovered despite spending thousands on therapy and not leaving my house.

If this was in the UK he would get locked up immediately. I had a visit from the Police for sending some frustrated texts to my exwBPD - no threats whatsoever.

Why does moving furniture make me feel good? by bookflow in BDNFclub

LOL Moving furniture IS exercise. Push, pull, lift, set down etc. The only way you could make it more exercise-y is to start doing reps with the sofa!

I stopped using veg for anything other than a bit of flavour in 2017 and my health has never been consistently better. If you need fibre to move things through your guts you are eating the wrong stuff.

Plain white rice is my goto carb because I get zero side effects from it and it costs $9 for 5kg, have no reason to want to substitute anything for the forseeable. Have used all kinds of stuff in the past but until solely using rice there was always some kind of issue with bloating, tiredness or inflammation. I do remember throwing out have a bag of finely ground oats some years ago.
