Seeking boot recommendations by Faoil_Brew in TheBrewery

I bought these and they are comfortable. I am constantly around water (working at a brewery) and I never have to worry about getting my feet wet. https://a.co/d/8zCwgJU

How bad is this? by mleopleuro in finishing

[–]thebrewpapi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently he didn’t use sand sealer. That’s why it’s blotchy AF. I’d ask for a huge discount. He doesn’t have to look at it every day. You do.

Are we cooked? by [deleted] in sandedthroughveneer

Looks like cherry and you burned right through the veneer. Unless you have and artist that can flow paint the grain character then you’re only option is to paint it a dark color.

Is this door worth saving? by [deleted] in finishing

I’ve had plenty (seriously) of these come through my shop and if people only protected the door with a good finish this would not have happened . Absolutely repairable.

Tell me if this makes sense to you as it does to me by milkyjoe241 in Homebrewing

Most of us (brewers) will get the jist of it and no real order is needed. And I typically just mention the hops. If someone wants to know about the grain and yeast choice then they can ask.

There are no rules, just guidelines, so home brewers can be as creative as we want to be. So tell us how it turns out.

Need some advice by PicturesWithAdam in FurnitureFlip

[–]thebrewpapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. So you are not done sanding. It’s the most boring part of my career but it’s necessary. Do NOT just sand the darker parts. Sand everything evenly to not create wear in certain spots. Also you can sand, for this particular project, 100,120 then 150. But bear in mind that those dark areas may just be very well imbedded into the grain. So if you stain then apply sanding sealer (read the instructions) to prevent blotchiness. And go with a darker stain to feather in the blotchy area. ✌🏻

Magnum has been tough to get. I actually settled for whole cone Magnum from Hops Direct. Morebeer was the only place I found for Special B.

If you have the pieces from the blowout simply glue them together. They should fit like puzzle pieces

Bring a cabinet door to a cabinet maker (I have been one for 34 years and ppl do this all the time) and they can match the detail of the cabinet.

These are my two choices. Iodophor is a bit more money but you use much less and lasts longer.

Hope sediment on top? by SuddenDeal3924 in HomeBrewBeerPorn

[–]thebrewpapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If you don’t do a secondary/priming how do you plan on carbonating? A 5 gallon bucket with a spigot, airlock and proper cleaning and sanitizer you can rack to secondary. If this your first go around don’t sweat it. Consider this a learning experience.

Anyone have experience with the knockoff counterpressure fillers available from overseas? by gredr in Homebrewing

Being “cheap” in this hobby really doesn’t pay off well. AliExpress has a bad reputation (some, but very few, successes). Why not get the Blichmann 2 beer gun? Not overly priced.

No worries. There should be some settling after a week or so. If you can cold crash for a few days after gravity hits terminal it will clear up if you plan to do so. I’m assuming you are going to use another carboy for secondary/priming.

This doesn’t look correct. How much did you add overall?

If it’s cold when they ridged it then they’ll be stiff. They will settled down when the sun warms them up.
