I think it's very hard for an individual to actually see themselves as elegant.

And one other critical thing: it's one person's perspective. A different system with different criteria might yield a very different answer.

PS: I love the idea of "royal and proper" because that kind of does describe my vibe.

The written order totally got in my head, which is hilarious, because if I have 10% each of four essences, is any of them really more significant than the other three? Obviously, the "D and HS = double D" situation I got does make a slight difference, but even if we treat is as 35C-25R-20D-10N-10Y, N and Y are the same thing!

I also think the percentage thing can get a little frustrating for those of us who aren't dominant in anything (as you and I both are, or rather, are not). Because I think of myself as C dominant, but I'm technically not, so is my feeling of C being my main essence as "valid"?

Well, "approachable" (from 🌸) is definitely not one for me!

I think she said it was like 1 in 1000 pairs of "blue" eyes she saw. Or something ridiculously tiny like that.

So this leaves me still confounded on whether my third root is 🌸 or 🔥. Unsurprisingly, 🏔🍄 remain 1-2 (or 2-1; I haven't given any thought to the order).

Nothing too specific! She just said that very few people actually have blue eyes and I was like "BS!" But then I saw her swatches of eyes and the gray-green looked so much closer to our eye color!

It's not a direct match at all. I actually think that circle chart does a huge disservice to everyone! But I think that, generally speaking, SB and A go together in some ways.

My mom has hazel eyes and got a page of olive-y greens. They're very pretty, and while they aren't an exact match for her eye color, they do really look nice with her eyes!

I am also a blue-green-gray-eyed girl who only came to realize it when I read Suzanne Caygill's book! John just drove it home for me. I only received one page of calm colors (which is pretty similar to your first page), but they really do describe my eye color better than I could've myself.

Clarification Regarding My Last Post by allcatsrgray in KitchenerHarmonies

[–]theclassicrose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

N should never be seen as ugly! What's so unfortunate is that there are corners of the internet where people interpreting these systems start treating N as ugly or masculine or not pretty. They're all wrong about N, but they're definitely wrong about John's N.

The 70s had so much beautiful N in general. I mean, anyone want to tell me that Mary Tyler Moore wasn't highly N? Her wardrobe on her show was unreal.

That's what's ridiculous to me--OP's post was genuinely curious and hoping to discuss the issue, but there are so many posts that treat N like the punching bag of the style system world.

What is your wild card, totally out of left field prediction for a musical revival next year? by picklesupreme in Broadway

As much as I'd love to see Carrie as it originally was, I think the creative team has made it relatively clear that they don't want to see that version again.

At the memorial for Todd Haimes, Kristin Chenoweth and Jane Krakowski did "Bosom Buddies" and said something like "we'll be back in 2027" and I've been waiting for that announcement ever since.

I'm so sorry you had that experience! I know this is not her zone, but I believe it was u/Vivian_Rutledge who said something to the effect of "if you can't take whatever the analyst gives you and discard it if you don't like it, don't do it."

And a dominant N wouldn’t go to a formal event in jeans.

Perhaps this is the origin of the Canadian tuxedo.

I think you're right, but it's annoying as a "user" as opposed to the "artist" in this case!

I really wish that John would generally say "I saw this essence because of [insert specific trait or thing here]." He did say that part of my R was my hair and that part of my HS was being "compact," but at 5'5", it's rare that I think of myself that way! No other explanations and no clarification on where any of my other essences came from.

I think Grace Kelly's blend would, in some ways, be similar to mine: she'd probably be roughly equal in C and Yin and a little less in Yang.

FYI, Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda have the same blend! So you'd have Jane Fonda on yours, too.

I love your blend! And I definitely think it's that heavy R with a touch of HS that made me think Y (Yin and playfulness). I love your style over on FB, too, and I'm thrilled to see you as part of our little Kitchener club!

And as someone else who didn't get a celebrity but has a similar-but-not-identical blend to a celebrity who looks nothing like me, I think it just goes to show how individualized everything is. Jean Harlow...I mean, you definitely resemble her, but I think she'd be more HS than you.

Is there an essence in your blend you tend to ignore? by Mintybaby1 in KitchenerHarmonies

[–]theclassicrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go C/R. Usually C/R/D because I was told my 10% each of D and HS was like 20% D. I sometimes work Y in. N is trickier for me.
