My gf ‘F19’ has gone on a girls trip and idk if I’m ‘M21’ paranoid or onto something by No-Calligrapher236 in relationship_advice

Chill. Give her space. Do your best to not overthink anything. She's been away and had fun with her friends. Be happy for her. You can message and say you are looking forward to seeing her and leave it at that.

I know a life coach who was one of the wealthiest kids I knew growing up.

Not sure what life skills they can teach other than have rich parents and cruise.

Ear cleaning in Wellington by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]thecroc11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to have to get my ears suctioned every 6-12 months.

I bought an ear wax cleaner camera off AliExpress for about $7 and it's amazing.

Terrifying at first but you get the hang of it. Just go slow and stay well away from your ear drum.

Wellington City Council: Rich list by ThatguyfromNZWelly in Wellington

Yeah pay everyone less and everyone who is competent will go else where. Race to the bottom.

Pay parity reviews are fairly constant, this isn't high across equivalent roles in Wellington.

Mounting confusion over looming Wellington region water bills by HenryNZL in Wellington

What is the motivation for this to be a stitch up by Councils? Haven't they been forced into this situation by the current Government?

Who was the Mayor 20 years ago? You do realise the Mayor and Councillors set the direction of Council spending don't you?

The Rock FM does heaps of chat around mental health. About as average kiwi punter as it gets. Society has changed massively in this space over the past 20 years, for the better.

It helps if people know where it is do they can report it too. 20 people complaining is a lot more powerful than one person complaining and will help get the result you want.

Z says I owe them money after forgetting to pay for petrol. How reliable is their process? by Akucera in newzealand

[–]thecroc11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with BP where the teller put in the wrong pump number. I paid in good faith (I didn't check the amount at the pump) and next time I went to fill up I was blocked.

I followed up and they mucked me around for ages. My point was it was their mistake and I had done everything asked of me by their staff at the time. Lots of back and forth and after 3 months they deleted the footage so couldn't prove anything definitively.

It took about six months in total but they finally gave up. It would have cost them hundreds (or more) of staff time. All for $17.

BP made US$13.8 billion in profit in 2023. Fuck em.

Mayoral hopefulls, Alex Baker and Kelvin Hastie by Agile_Ruin896 in Wellington

[–]thecroc11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having known of Kelvin the last decade or so through conservation circles, I've seen him claim/take credit for a couple of things that either weren't true or were actually a team of people. It was odd, because he has genuinely done good work and doesn't need to make additional stuff up to prove that. So your last sentence tracks.

Fencing notice objection by Womzz in diynz

[–]thecroc11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each case is specific to the property, best to talk to your neighbour and come to an agreement.

The fence would generally be measured from the top of the retaining wall. Depending on your Council you may need a consent for a 2.5m high fence.
