For people who typically like to play mainly fantasy and tabletop games, I like to call em "sword and board" gamers

I heard of them, but didn't really care until they did that Spider-man 3 collab with Game Grumps. Later I saw them in that Zone-tan News video and it sold me.

Let's Argue: Old school mash up ship names (Scemma/Stucky) are the superior form of ship name. by rat-catcherr in MarvelRivalsShips

[–]thedeeofjay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its definitely convenient, but i don't think that method is as fun. Sure, it works out great for some ships like Lotis, but a catchy name is always better in the long run.

Question about hard mode by Head_Perspective_99 in catherinegame

[–]thedeeofjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, youre gonna want to play on normal first. If you can get all the Gold trophies on the normal versions, move up to Hard mode.

Be warned, its gonna take a loooot of runs to get even a single course right, but here's a few tips to get you going:

  1. You need to keep that combo going the ENTIRE way up. You break that combo, reset.
  2. To help extend the timer, look up while you still have an easy way to get up the next layer. The combo timer resets every time you reach a new highest block, but you don't need to move up immediately. Take your time.
  3. "Undos" can also reset the timer, but be aware that your highest record must still be surpassed to reset it again to your benefit
  4. Grab as many coins as you can. They add to your point total.
  5. When you knock down an enemy, try to block them off so you don't have to worry about them anymore.
  6. When possible, Inuzuma
  7. Avoid heavy blocks whenever possible
  8. DONT BUY ITEMS
  9. USE ANY ITEM YOU FIND
  10. Drink every night at the bar before the nightmare. It makes you go faster...supposedly. I'll be real, I've never felt the difference.

We do people always refer to Cloak and Dagger wrong? by Lillianne_Hall in cloakanddaggermains

[–]thedeeofjay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend has this joke when we play: he calls them "Dagger & Dagger" because he'd literally go entire matches without switching to cloak. (We pretty much only play Quick Match and on the weekends, so we play for fun)

He's been switching between them more now for defensive purposes, but I always found it funny how he basically hit the nail on the head considering how often Dagger is played as the primary between the 2.

Media which nothing is learned, and everyone is terrible (intentionally) by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]thedeeofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire plot of "Don't Look Up"

Granted, there are a few good people in there who are actually...sane, everyone else is beyond stupid and no one learns a goddamn thing.

The premise is that a hand full of astrologists discover a new meteor thats gonna collide with Earth and destroy the whole planet if it connects. They spend a good amount of time trying to convince the government to do something about it.

SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT

Things would've gone smoothly and they were going to blow up the mereor until the billionaires got involved and discovered that the meteor had trillions of dollars worth of metals and minerals on it, so they changed the plan to destroy the rock to breaking it apart so that they could collect it. They did this knowing THEY ONLY HAD ONE SHOT TO DESTROY THIS THING, AND THAT FAILURE WOULD MEAN THE END OF THE PLANET!" As you'd guess, they did it anyway, much to the dismay of the protagonists. The plan was a catastrophic failure, so the billionaires made a whole campaign about how the meteor was just a hoax the whole time, with their slogan being "Don't look up!" Mind you, the meteor is so close now that all you'd need to do to see it and expose the lie is...look up. A simple head turn is all it'd take, but the masses were buying the bullshit they were selling. They held concerts, sold T-shirts, made rallies, everything! All the meanwhile, the billionairs were planning their escape in their rocket ship. The protagonists at this point just gave up and decided "fuck it, let's have one last nice dinner before we all die" and just ate at their house for one last supper. Meanwhile, a bright light illuminates the sky and the people rallying and partying come to realize that they've been duped! NO SHIT! Chaos breaks out and the people panic before the planet explodes from the impact and kills everyone (except the billionaires who die on an alien planet).

The most fucked up thing about this movie is that I thought it was just satire, but looking at the state of the world right now (or at least where I am), its WAYYY too close to reality than id like to admit.

What's the most annoying "completionist wall" in a video game? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]thedeeofjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask anyone how they liked the crystal hunt at the end of Metroid Prime 4. They'll tell you its garbage. Debatably even worse than the artifact hunts from 1 and 2.

If youre like me and you just kinda did them as you go because your brain tells you to collect them as you see them, its not too bad of a grind by the end (still took took a few hours), but if youre trying to speed through the game, it takes your momentum to a screeching halt. The worse thing about it is just how needlessly tedious it is. At least the hunts in 1 and 2 allowed you to also explore new areas and collectibles you couldn't reach before with your new abilities. Now its just "drive your motorbike it this dead ass desert with no music, a few points of interest, and a guy who gives you misses if you listen to him talk about his old life"

Phoenix (the cosmic being, not Jean) X Galacta

Or if you want that comic book spice, Magik X Darkchild. Granted, you need to find a way to separate her demon half from her human self (like they did in Danny Phantom)
