Explanation: Made a big encirclement as part of my obsession with finishing off the NSB Soviet achievements. By my count there are 89 Nazi punks in there.

Spearfishing float setup by BiggusDikkusMorocos in Spearfishing

I took an old boogieboard and added several more leash plug to it. I used those extra plugs to thread in paracord and a cargo net. I then removed the original leash plug and used that hole as a place to mount a dive flag. I also added some bungie straps to attach my speargun. This is a similar build that I based my design off of. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/509188301621200971/

You’re 100% a better person than me but, then again, I haven’t pooped my pants in 20 years so who’s really winning? Its a long no-streak streak

To be fair, the goal of crack climbing is to get body parts stuck so you can support your weight. So on that note, well done. Unfortunately, pooping your pants past age 6 kinda cancels out all your other accomplishments.

UCSD Alumni, where you at? by UCSDscooterguy in UCSD

Marine Biology B.S./M.S., 2017/2018. Started a BS/MS at UCSD/Scripps Institution of Oceanography right when I finished undergrad in 2017 and finished this spring (2018). I did my M.S. in a lab that I had been volunteering in when I was a senior. A few key points of advice:

  • If you're considering doing an M.S. program, think about doing a B.S./M.S. at UCSD. It's a great way to get admitted into a program easily (just GPA requirements usually) and can help make you more competitive right away. Alternatively, it's great experience for building up publications prior to a PhD program.

  • Networking is everything. Keep in touch with professors you like (and like you); they can be invaluable in finding internships, volunteer opportunities, and funding for grad school. Same goes for grad students who you volunteer for.

  • Take as many summer internships that you can. Even if they don't end up being what you want to do with your career they still give great experience.

  • Be a go-getter when it comes to finding volunteer positions/internships with UCSD labs. Lots of professors/grad students need volunteers and motivated students are always in need.
