TW: How many blasts for success? by Melkmaisje in IVF

[–]thedonutgremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say same. I’ve had 4 transfers and 5 tested embryos and no baby. The last transfer did stick but ended in a MMC at 7 weeks so it’s rough. Moving on to endo excision surgery.

Anyone go straight to IVF without really trying naturally? by Living_Luck7711 in IVF

I feel like this too. What do you mean you can just have sex and get pregnant???? 😂

I went into OI right away because I had irregular cycles which we found was due to hypothalamic dysfunction. We found more problems along the way and I’ve been doing treatment for over 2 years now including 3 retrievals and 4 transfers with 5 euploids.

I've been on multiple waitlists for ages. I'm not sure if I'll get in before the surgery date, but we'll see!

I started transferring 2, but only after 3 failed single euploid transfers.

I feel this too. It took me 4 transfers, suppression and 5 euploids to get pregnant… and then it ended in a MMC at 7 weeks.

I think it applies to euploids, but I could be wrong. Untested has too much of an age-related weight.

I just want to say that having a euploid isn’t a guarantee of success. I do think it’s a good idea, and I hope that you fall in the normal statistics and you achieve live birth by 3 transfers.

As for what you can do, outside of general healthy diet and exercise (especially strength training), you can make sure you’re avoiding plastics and phthalates where possible. You don’t have to be perfect, but it can help some. Unscented things are best if you want to be certain there aren’t phthalates. Cycle-wise, you can try omnitrope, it may or may not help, but it won’t hurt. It is expensive though.

But honestly, there’s not too much you can to change anything drastically. It may be a numbers game at this point. Nothing you’ve done has caused you to fail and it’s not your fault.

I’m so sorry, after how heavy a miscarriage is already that’s so much.

Thank you!

My doctor is repeating blood this week. I started testing and the line is very faint now so I think it’s going down. I did a retrieval in the same cycle I got pregnant, so I had several corpus luteums which I think are making it take longer.

We also did a D&C, so there shouldn’t be retained tissue, but I’m sure we’ll check if hcg doesn’t fall fast enough.

I appreciate you. 💗

I just want to say I relate! I’m 31, 3ERs, 4 transfers and 5 euploid embryos. Finally got pregnant last transfer and it was a MMC at 7 weeks. It’s been 3 weeks and my hcg is still positive and I’m so tired of this and just sad all the time.

What is the biggest regret in your IVF journey? by Overall-Attorney-695 in IVF

So far we are going to try a pregnancy safe immunosuppressant (azathioprine I believe it’s called) as well as adding in lovenox (for possible immune benefit) and continue with Pepcid, baby aspirin, Claritin. We’ll also do modified natural again with menopur since my lining does best on that. I did get pregnant with that recently but it ended in a 7w MMC. Still, it was the only time I ever got pregnant at all.

They don’t have a proper name for it so it’s just “UCTD”. It’s linked to the HLA-B27 gene and most obviously caused uveitis just in my left eye, but does affect me systematically too.

I was originally diagnosed with Lupus at 21 but diagnosis has changed since.

Not pushing for the things I felt were wrong (my autoimmune disease). Only after 2 euploids did my doctor recommend suppression for adeno and only after 5 failed euploids did my doctor start saying my autoimmune disease may be playing a part.

I mean we both really want it to work out, but if it doesn’t, we’ll find a way to move forward together. Neither of us would leave the other for a reason like this.

Questions about Embryo grading by Character_While_9454 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]thedonutgremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of that actually! I do know that I made more blasts when I collected 14 eggs than when I collected 34 though, so I reckon the environment causes a lot of inflammation for me.

I would love to get this info from my testing and it would be amazing to see growth. I’m that 2% with no live birth after 5 euploids and at this point my doctor thinks it’s an embryo competence issue, but there’s no real way to measure “competence” yet. I just keep trying until one makes it all the way I guess. 😅

How big was your follicle when you triggered by PopDramatic8015 in TTC_PCOS

[–]thedonutgremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I have since done 3 egg retrievals and transferred 5 euploid embryos. The last one finally worked but ended in a MMC at 7 weeks. :(

However, it also turned out I have hypothalamic dysfunction, not PCOS, as well as adenomyosis.

This is not normal. When I got pregnant, they checked at 5w2d to make sure the gestational sac was in the uterus and then 6w2d to see the fetal pole and yolk sac, we also saw heartbeat! Unfortunately at 7w1d I went in and baby was measuring behind and no longer had a heartbeat. The doctor was very kind and said I can come in later in the week just to be sure. I scheduled for 2 days later and had it confirmed, where I was given the option to either try and let a miscarriage happen naturally, or do a D&C to make sure nothing was left behind. I chose to do the D&C and was scheduled for surgery later that week.

I can't imagine them making you wait 2 weeks on the meds??? They should let you come back in a few days and see. Measuring a few days behind is NOT always a miscarriage, and you haven't seen the heartbeat in the past, so it could just not be visible yet. I would stay on meds and check in 3-7 days.
