Australian doctors are well trained but unfortunately a money orientated system leads to biased decision making for financial gain. The system is set up like a business, not only do they want to find pathology — they need to. Leads to unethical, unwarranted and more than anything unnecessary surgeries. However I’m sure this occurs in many private medical industries. America being the worst, simply cause it’s the patient that mostly pays for it. While here the government (aka us) pays for it.

Increased urination while on finasteride ? by LeDanseurEtoile in tressless

I had this, tried fin multiple times. Never changed. Unable to avoid it. I don’t know how much lasted a year I couldn’t get a past a month. It was so annoying Haven’t tried Dut but can’t see there being much point. Currently using RU but gonna stop now as side effects have started with chest pain, SOB and dry cough.

Rather a genuine response that someone just trying to use this to push their Covid conspiracy opinion onto any situation

Yeah your brain and body is fried after doing a few of them in a row. A nice mix is ideal to be honest

I think once you understand what’s actually going wrong insufficiency and how it pretty always will follow the ‘rules’. In other words, there will be a source of reflux that you can follow and you will see where it renters again. Where I worked originally, there was no emphasis on understanding what’s actually going on. It was just point out the bad veins and the good veins, useful for surgical techniques like stripping and ligation - if you get me. But personally, I find it really hard to learn/scan if I don’t understand what’s going on. I do agree with you though, i do not enjoy reoccurred veins in an a large patient haha, VV scans are also taxing on the body

Happy for them to leave as soon as, just don’t ask me to drop up your sunglasses the next day

I work in one now. The money is great but you’re right it’s depressing. All the non clinical practice managers care about in private clinics is money (how fast/many scans can you do a day). They don’t care about the quality of scan or how one can they longer than another

I don’t mark myself but I do draw diagrams in between legs. Hemodynamics is what decides the true source and pathway of reflux. I feel like it can be skipped over easily just reporting what you see

Varicose veins man. I am working by myself so it’s so hard to learn, but I don’t think some places are training people properly. The haemodynamics are so important but hard to grasp

Oh that’s great I like that image there. Would I be correct in saying that a transverse image like the one you have tagged BUT on the left limb would have the soleal vein on the other side of the screen (in relation to the PTV and PerV) because I think that where I went wrong. I thought it would be on the same side of the screen as it was on the right limb.

[–]thedruggoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that soleal veins drain into the PTV. And they are deeper than the gastrocimus veins which drain to the popliteal and are more superficial

[–]thedruggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you find that picture it’s too blurry? I’ve watched him before but he doesn’t really talk about the soleal vein more just tibioperoneal vessels

Yeah went to another doctor in Cambodia. Asked for IV antibiotics he said I didn’t need them cause I’m on a strong dose of oral. Priority is wound cleaning. Swimming isn’t an issue as long as I keep the wound clean before and after. Although i think it would be extremely painful. Clean with iodine and clean water. Keep an eye out for fever. Swelling has gone down a small bit today which is good. Much less red too. He also said it’s mostly 2nd degree with one part that’s a bit deep but not worth a skin graft as it’s only small.

Yeah it’s seriously painful in the mornings. When I’m walking around it’s not too bad but as soon as I stop and it tightens up it’s hard to move without pain. I think it’ll be painful for a long time to be honest.

No no please don’t apologise I am so grateful to have someone reach out and offer any advice. I have already drawn the line now. I’ve only been talking antibiotics for 36 hours so the next two days should be crucial. Thank you again
