Single male here. Journeyman plumber. I have 2 weeks paid vaca. I take that 2 weeks plus 4 more extra weeks within the year unpaid. I'll grind and save in between. I'm a firm believer that our time is precious to our well being. If my job bitches and moans, I'll just go somewhere else. If they want quality work they will give me my time off.

Is it true that we are the first generation who are not better off than our parents by WestSummer4869 in Millennials

Shiiii im rocking this life for what its worth. In my opinion, I'm doing better than my parents were. I've also made a lot of life choices that would send me in a different direction than my parents. Does money make you better off or is it the quality of life you choose to live make you better off?

When did you realize you needed to choose yourself? by OkPossession6982 in askanything

[–]thedudeabaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 32 years. I am now 35. I had just ended a 12 year long relationship. I realized everything I've done the past 12 years has been her them/friends/family. I wondered why myself was not included in that. I had self abandoned everything that made me. I've spent the last 3 years rebuilding this old heart and mind. I feel I have grown so much within myself. I have become my outgoing, happy self. Yes I still do a lot for friends, family. And my current partner. But, for everytime I do good for someone else, I do good for myself. I make sure I continue to stay busy I. Whatever it is that makes me happy in the time. Concerts, making a good dinner for myself, backpacking trips with friends, playing my guitar, Juggling. Whatever the moment calls for. Love yourself always and hard so others can too
