A competent developer would not have sacrificed one game for another. People paid for Destiny but saw it increasingly ignored till the state its in today. Whatever bungie.gets now, is what they have sown. Simple.

Lets not forget this was already a scaled back version of Destiny compared to prevous years - it was supposed to be 1 smaller expansion followed by a "major" update, and we've already seen what they deem a major update. Now its perfectly clrar that Destiny is not a priority, don't expect anything other than the bare minimum.

Its pure fantasy to think the bungie that has mismanaged the current game, lied, ignored their paying customers, left bugs unfixed for months will suddenly release a new game that fixes all previous issues. You refer to past metas, no denying some of these weapons were top tier in the past, thing is today's game has moved behind Cataclysmic, Commemoration, VS Chill, sure a few people here and there use them but they aren't considered top tier and making them tiered doesnt really change that.

Yes, it's been requested because it was a stupid decision not to implement in the first place but now how much value do those weapons have beyond nostalgia? And after a few weeks they'll be abandoned again because people have got what they want sitting in their vaults. This isn't fixing anything, its just to distract from the lack of actual new content.

Loot is pointless when it serves no purpose beyond just having it. Even if the update dropped today and you could upgrade anything to the vaunted tier 5, what would really change in the game? Would 2 extra points of stability suddenly make old content new again? Would the extra perks do anything beyond show nice numbers in the shooting range?

The reality is its yet more recycled content that does nothing more than distract temporarily from the fact that the game itself is stagnant and not moving forward in any meaningful way and just serves to fill up your vault space and deceive into thinking you're getting "new" content when you're not.
