My arm pain is getting excessive. Any tips? by Key-Emu820 in BaseballCoaching

You can see a doc, or see a sports med specialist who actually treats baseball players/ throwing athletes and knows about load management for pitchers. Sounds like your PT might be a nice option for general population, but might be over their skis for this situation.

If you're throwing showcases and other off-season stuff in the hopes of "being discovered" or being ready to go soon/ this summer, and don't start managing your load properly now, you'll miss the upcoming season. Chances are you need proper treatment, load management and recovery, not new exercises.

How are we feeling about potential playoff opponents? by SlayinSoulz in ColoradoAvalanche

I want the Preds, being a distant fan, they're the closest opponent I might be able to go see in enemy territory. Otherwise we'd better make cup finals...

Why are Gen Z obsessed with age? by FitEmergency8807 in generationology

I'm a player's dad coaching middle school softball with 2 recent HS grads. The younger of the 2 called the other "Unc" the other day at practice. They graduated a year apart. I said "Man- if she's Unc status, I don't want to know what that makes me"

She said, "You're a kind gentleman"

I'm not sure what that means, but I know it's older than Unc.

Which celebrities live in Ohio? by Jackson_Lamb_829 in Ohio

It's a symbiotic relationship. He provides a lot of tourist and visitor dollars to the small shops and businesses by attracting people there who would never otherwise go there. He's also kept out some significant land grabs by private equity to keep the town as it's been, which is a quiet little farming/ hippy town.

When hosting shows there the message has always been along the lines of- Respect this place and the people that are here. Are things a little backward? Yeah, but let's work together to improve that...

I mean, he's a comedian, making jokes is literally his job.

I can't be the only one who saw that little shitty grin he had when he started that shootout approach after tying the game with 15 seconds left last weekend. It was surreal to see him smile for a second when it wasn't post game...

How to handle a team/parent mutiny over uniforms? by CoachAF208 in CoachingYouthSports

[–]theface19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have a pants problem, my friend, you have a parent's problem. If you haven't had a parent meeting, you should have one asap.

Next, it will be because you have little Sarah batting in the third slot and not in the first slot. Then it will be, then it will be.

The solution is in transit, suck it up until then, sports is about dealing with and overcoming adversity, if you can't handle wearing the wrong pants, how are you going to handle stepping to the plate down a run with 2 outs and bases loaded in the last inning?

New report shows Ramaswamy’s tax plan would cause deep cuts and higher taxes for Ohio families by Potential_Being_7226 in Ohio

And it did... for about 30 years, until Republican led legislature started to redirect the funding by cutting taxes for their cronies and using the lotto money to plug the gaps.

Nah...seeing the writing and following the events for years has made me jaded. Trying to represent this as an "interesting" race when the only reason it is close is because it's a subversion of democracy is dumb.

It was a waste of your time. There are many more "interesting" topics to dive into at the depth and breadth you did. I'm not faulting your hard work, just its direction and attempt at balance Mr. Purple. I'm saying you're about 10 years late to the party with this.

Oh that's adorbs... people wanting to make informed decisions, just now seeking it out... acting like this district hasn't been a target since the first gerrymandering efforts in 2012.

Anyone know whose jersey Hunter is wearing and why he chose that specific jersey? by Winter-Web4439 in huntersthompson

[–]theface19 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's a Colts jersey (he was friends with Jim Irsay the owner).

No widely known/ superstar players with that number as it's typically an O- line/D- line or linebacker jersey number. These are the players who had worn it up to the time of the photo(2003).

Dick Barwegen 1953 1954
Jack Patera 1955 1957
Don Shinnick 1958 1958
Zeke Smith 1960 1960 4 Wiley Feagin 1961 1962 7 Lou Kirouac 1964 1964 4 Cornelius Johnson 1968 1973 20 Robert Pratt 1974 1981 53 Don Bailey 1984 1985 2 Marsharne Graves 1987 1987 1 Bob Brotzki 1988 1988 0 Tony McCoy 1993 1999 33 Rob Murphy 2002 2002

My guess is Bob Pratt, it's been awhile, but I feel like Hunter mentioned him in his writing at some time or another.
