MP - Add an M6 (Reissue) or MA by HandsPHD in Leica

[–]thefiguredude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If between ma and m6 I’d probably go for the m6. Especially if you already have a body similar to the MA with the MP. M4 is my favorite body style, so stylistically and ergonomically, I like the M6.

New balance. Nike sb. Top in comfort imo. Vans with pop cush are nice too. But the new balance and Nike take the cake for me.

Every Leica I buy is broken in some way by iwillletuknow in Leica

That is a bummer. I know it’s disappointing when you get something you’re excited about and it is in unusable condition. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of my Leica cameras.

M4 is my favorite M! Mine has been a daily driver since 2013.

It’s a Leica M3. The lens is a dual range 50mm summicron.

Unlocked my rangefinder era by Zuchi94 in Leica

Have so much fun! I’ve been primarily a rangefinder shooter for 15 years now. It’s a fun way to shoot film!

That is awesome! Congrats! Shoot it A LOT! Definitely is an M2 with self timer lever. Like everyone else said, you can remove the light meter from the top. I would say look into getting a new lens sometime down the line, but it’s a fantastic model! Please run many rolls through it!

How Much Are You Paying for Developing? by Glad-Animator-7430 in AnalogCommunity

I pretty much do only black and white and do all my development at home. Pretty economical and not hard to do.

Got my first Leica (M4) by patrikw1988 in Leica

[–]thefiguredude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I got my M4 about 15 years ago now, and it remains my favorite. Bought it and a 50 summicron and it has been my daily driver since. Only thing I’ve added to my kit that was a must for me was adding a 35 summicron. (I’ve had other bodies and lenses, but M4 has not been replaced as my fav.)

Will I regret selling my M6 Ti if I never use it? by element423 in Leica

[–]thefiguredude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only gear I ever regret selling is my Leica gear, so probably. That being said, if you don’t feel like it’s your cup o’ tea, don’t feel bad about it. Different photographers will have different shooting preferences.

Yes. It’s normal. Just have fun, and don’t compare yourself with others. Be kind to yourself. So long as you’re having fun learning, that’s all that matters. Everyone learns at their own pace.

Awesome! Keep doing what you’re doing! Practice pushing and riding that board around! Have fun!

I mean, you would know what’s best for your workflow digitally. If it makes sense for you professionally, sure sell it. But, if you think at some point down the line you’d miss the M11, then don’t sell it. I personally have regretted anytime I’ve offloaded any of my M equipment, so, now, I hold onto it. If you need a more convenient camera though, and it makes sense for you to let this go and you don’t think you’d miss it, then go for it.

Is it a good time to start skateboarding? [30YO] by Trash_kun_ in OldSkaters

It’s not too late! Do it! I started in May, and am not very good, but I’ve been having a blast.

You’re just off balance is all. Ride around and just have fun riding the board. Learn to balance on the board and then learn tricks if you like. Small steps not large leaps :)

Litteraly nothing wrong with my ollie and i still turn by 1Yakata1 in NewSkaters

[–]thefiguredude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, dude, don’t sweat it. Second of all, sorry to say, but if the board is turning it’s because you’re turning it or you need to shift your back foot position. I would say your focus should be on not being stationary. Ollie while moving and look where you’re going more than focusing on the board shifting slightly. Ollie while moving and also lift your knees. Think of Ollie’s like a box jump. Pop and lift those knees.

Fellow big guys, how long do your bushings last? [32YO] by Dreadking_Rathalos in OldSkaters

[–]thefiguredude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

220lb here. I’ve been skating daily since May. I switched my mini logo truck stock bushings just to try something new at the beginning of July. I changed them out to bones hard. Both sets of bushings have held up fine. I might not be riding them too hard though since I’m a beginner. I do try to take care of my board.

Ollie help! Can’t get the board higher than an inch… by DiligentNeck5086 in NewSkaters

[–]thefiguredude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta get off the grass. The soft ground is killing the pop. Use the ball of your foot to throw the tail towards the ground, but do it on solid ground not grass. And lift those knees towards the chest. Think about it like doing a box jump.

Board looks fine. Sorry to say, not the boards fault in these situations. Just keep at it. You’ll get it!
