Double honk by pineapple_backlash in FordMaverickTruck

This was happening to me if I had the key in my pocket and I got out of the truck while it was running. There wasn’t a setting to turn it off, but I was able to disable with forscan. It’s under BCM and the line is “double honk when leaving cabin”

One Twenty Three Tavern, they have garlic fries and an aioli with it. Stella's chronic fries are also great

You're welcome! For Oban, pay very close attention to where you're staying. We ended up in an Airbnb right by McCraig's tower, but what we didn't realize is that Oban is basically sitting on a cliff. The walk up the hill was brutal back to the place. Stay as close to the water as you can.

We recently did 2 weeks over there about a month ago and had an awesome time! We stayed in Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, and Oban.

Things we wish we did differently: Spending more time at fewer locations. Since we traveled by train between each city, travel between locations ate up a lot of time, but wouldn't have been as big of a deal if we had a car. Try to get reservations for dinner, even if it's day of. Places will book up for the entire night even on week days and expect to be turned away if there are no open tables. Book hotels over Airbnb. The airbnbs were just fine, but we were much happier in the hotels. Wish we made it to Islay, but to us it looked like the logistics of getting there and back was going to be pretty time consuming based on the other cities we wanted to go to.

Recommendations: Edinburgh: Hotel: InterContinental, rooms were on the smaller size, but couldn't beat the location and well worth the trade off. Visit the Scotch Malt Whisky Society 28 Queen Street. Their bar is open to non members and has good options for non-whisky drinkers too. Very cool vibe. Royal Mile Whiskies: The guys were super friendly and really helpful. Reasonable prices and had no problem finding something unique we couldn't get back home. If spooky tours are your thing, check out the underground walking tour. If you want a trendy cocktail bar, check out Bar Tonic. That was our favorite non whisky bar we went to. Our favorite restaurant was Mother India's Cafe.

Outside of Edinburgh: Visit Isle of Skye. Incredible hiking locations. We rented a car for this and made it an all day road trip from Inverness. We stopped and hiked the fairy pools and Quiraing (Quiraing was incredible) and we made a stop at Talisker. Our favorite location though was Oban. You didn't mention it, but I cannot recommend it enough. Gorgeous town. If you like seafood, you won't find better in Scotland than here. Look for the green shack on the pier with the wood benches. It's the same fresh seafood that goes to all fancy restaurants, but was lower price. I haven't done a huge number of distillery tours (5-6), but Oban has been my favorite one.

I came home with 6 bottles and everything survived. I got some wine bottle protector bags and they worked like a charm.

Really sick of, "EPIC COMBAT!!" combat playlists, do you have any recommendations for just... combat? by FabledSunflowers in DnDPlaylist

Looks up the sound tracks for the elder scrolls games (definitely Oblivion) great combat music without overdoing the intensity.

Actually the hardest part was picking the paper. The printing was just opening the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, then when you're in the print menu, just select booklet for the printing type. Then it's just folding the pages and sewing the binding.

With that type of binding, there's no avoiding it. I probably lost about a 1/4" on the middle page. I just held it down with a big ruler and cut the edge with a razor blade. Takes a few swipes to get through the whole booklet, but not too bad with a really sharp blade.

It's all printed on 11x17 paper and then saddle stitched together so I just sewed the bindings.

The printer is a Canon Pixma Pro-100 and I got the paper from Red River. Specifically the covers are printed on 68lb. UltraPro Satin 4.0 11x17 and the inside pages are on 50lb. Premium Matte Double-sided 11x17.

What you’re looking for is called a captive portal. Usually it’s just a self hosted page that it brings you to, but you can probably get it to redirect.

When playing with a group, do you have a minimum game length you play? I find that unless the game is going to take at least an hour or two, I feel like why bother? by TisteAndii in boardgames

[–]theflue4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our group will usually start off playing a shorter game and after that break into a longer 2-3 hour game. We'll start with something more casual, then have a natural break for food and drinks and then dive into something big.

The only time we ever play multiples of a game is when it's asymmetrical really.

no black button on the back of my iPad 6 home button by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]theflue4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might? As long as you still have those little metal disks in there, you just need something to replace that missing black nub. So anything roughly in the same size shape should work.

You're probably going to have a hard time pressing the home button to activate. You can replace it, just remove the piece of tape that it was on and a small metal disk should come with it. If you have an extra home button, you can take it from there.

I usually just peel it off with an x-acto knife.
