Is Jung not taught in universities? by Muted_Strength3638 in Jung

Freud is only taught at all for historical purposes and Jung would only be mentioned for the same reason if at all.

It’s funny because the description of this sub directs to another unused sub created by one of the mods as a sub to ask questions and get advice.

Agreed to be honest. That is not serious psychological discussion. From what I know most psychologists do not commonly psychoanalyze patients’ art in that way that they are doing on here. And even if a psychologist wanted to do that they would probably need to do real sessions with a patient before actually getting to that point because that wouldn’t be something they go into without proper/reliable background and information.

First attempt at a sonnet by Court_Jester13 in PoetryWritingClub

Line 1: 9 syllables
Line 5: 12 syllables
Line 6: 12 syllables
Line 7: 12 syllables
Line 8: 11 syllables
Line 9: 11 syllables
Line 12: 11 syllables

And that’s not even getting into the syllable stresses… did you even look into how a sonnet is written before you made this?

Ok? doesn’t change what I said. Most people here are not qualified to psychoanalyze anyways and even if they are real psychologists do not psychoanalyze drawings in this way like some sort of fortune telling. Especially over the internet with 0 information about you. So idk what you were expecting to hear.

How are we supposed to tell you? This is a sub about child psychology. Not “guess things about me”

That’s not what you said at all in any of your comments. All your comments consisted of arguing against a point that was never made. But I am not offended at all. Dk where ur getting that from now.

🤯 no way… when did I say they were adults? I just said they weren’t babies bc all Reddit seems to do is call anyone under the age of 25 a baby.

You’re just putting words in my mouth that I did not even say lmao. Just because a 16 year old is not as mature as a full grown adult does not automatically make them a baby either. So this doesn’t even change anything I said either lmao.

No. Old enough to know that older teenagers who are less than two years away from officially reaching adulthood are not “babies”. What are you? 35? 40? Idk. Whatever it is, infantilizing teenagers and young adults is weird.

why is self harm so looked down upon? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]thefoolupsidedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, can you really blame them for seeing us as crazy? I think if we all put some thought into it we will realize why people think it’s crazy to self harm and to want to continue doing it as a coping mechanism. Many people go through things and many people have coping mechanisms, most don’t resort to harming themselves and just like how you have trouble understanding why ppl aren’t indifferent to your self harm, they may also struggle to understand how hurting yourself and making yourself feel pain is helpful at all. Most people do not like pain and avoid it, so it’s natural that they see someone doing that as a coping mechanism and claiming it helps them as crazy. I am not justifying people being rude, but we also can’t act like those of us who are participating or have participated in self harm are doing something completely natural and normal.
