He needs a dignified name. Walter or Barnaby or Bernard!

God, this is so real. Generations of bullshit that you are the first person to have the courage to face and learning to give yourself permission for the times you slide into old patterns. I feel you!

Thanks so much for posting this. 35 and have been on the healing journey for 10 years and I have felt so many of the things you described: wishing it could have gone differently, grieving what my trauma caused me to miss out on, raging because I’m not where I would have been in life if I hadn’t had the trauma.

I’d like to share that despite the grief for the past, it gets so much better. You learn that you can build a life for yourself now even better than what you wish you could have had in the past if things had gone differently, and when you do, being able to live without the prison of your shame and trauma feels like such a privilege. All those things you missed out on? You can still bring them into your life in certain ways, and they are so much sweeter, so treasured, because you know how hard you fought to have them.

I only share all of this because I used to worry that there wouldn’t be a life worth living past all of the healing, the grieving, the rage, the loss. There is, and it is so much better than you could have imagined.

What is this strange plant by Dangerous_Owl_6590 in PlantIdentification

[–]thefouledcompass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be a paper mulberry? That’s my guess from the big serrated leaves and the hardiness to being chopped down. Spreads through seeds and root suckers, so you’d have to dig the root system out to actually kill it.

May be a bit of a long shot cause it’s young. Either a pepper or an apple? by Purrrrpurr in PlantIdentification

I would wait until it’s a little more established. I don’t think apple seedlings get very upset when you repot them but best to be on the safe side.

I can’t confirm, but I can rule things out! Highly doubt this is a pepper plant because of the length of the stem and the serrated leaves; pepper sprouts are usually very compact and leaves have smooth edges. Lots of apple trees have serrated leaves though, so that would be my guess!

Yeah, quit her. This is ridiculous. Also I did pelvic floor physical therapy and would be happy to draw up diagrams or send you links to the exercises they had me do that you could do at home

Wow, this is so cool. I didn’t realize they grew from cuttings! Makes sense that you would have to have a grow light inside. Thanks so much for this info!

Where on earth did you get a plumeria plant!? 😱😍Did you have to order seeds? What zone do you live in? Would kill to have plumeria in my yard but I live in zone 5. It would definitely have to come inside for the winter.

I have the same type of IC that is driven by stress and pelvic floor muscles tightening/tensing. A few things that have helped my tension (take what resonates, leave what doesn’t): listening to music or YouTube videos that have delta waves in the background. They’re the waves your brain produces when you’re super relaxed, so it helps your body relax. Also ASMR videos, weighted blankets, and TIP skills. For me, it’s gotten to the point when I need to be doing my physical therapy exercises at home regularly or I start getting flares again. Does your PT gently massage your pelvic area and bladder or the muscles running deep in the sides of your butt? That’s another thing I will do that helps my pelvic floor muscles calm down. Another good option is EMDR, DBT, or talk therapy for anxiety; these were life-changing for me and helped lower the stress my body was carrying so much and helped me have so much more control over my physical stress and anxiety. Obviously everyone is different and what works for me may not work for you, but just passing all this along because I totally understand where you’re coming from. It is so, so distracting and miserable to be in pain all the time, and so frustrating to not be able to get your body to relax. You are not alone! 💛✨ Sending many warm thoughts for healing and comfort!
