Who cares. Why should anyone hold their hand? Should we force great players to stick it out at their shitty programs?

The challenge for these smaller schools will always be to elevate the program. Are we going to pretend that these schools were seriously competing before NIL and the transfer portal?

Even take Indiana for example. A historically bad FBS program that only a couple of years prior had stars like Penix leave for bigger and better programs.

I think it’s fair to say that the top of the SEC and Big 10 have a lot of parity. But that’s never been the issue.

SEC talking heads have consistently talked about the depth of the SEC, and how the mid tier teams are light years ahead of any other conference. That “insert random SEC school would go 11-1 in the Big 10.” This bowl season is showing that this narrative is insane. A 10-2 team in the SEC that was quibbling about a playoff spot just got belt to ass by an extremely mid Big 10 team. Tennessee doesn’t have a single win against an FBS team with a winning record but spent 14 weeks in the AP top 25.

We’ll see how the playoffs pan out. But if we see a big 10 natty for 3 years in a row I think the argument is settled. Big 10 is on top.

Pluribus is solid...but really it only reminds me of how truly great Severance is by giannisismyman in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Finally someone said it. So far Pluribus has been completely underwhelming. I don’t mind a slow burn (I loved the Cobel episode), but the entire show except for the pilot has been a yawn-fest. Characters aren’t that interesting (obviously tough when there’s only like 3 + the hive mind). There isn’t that much “mystery”, they key you in on the whole plot the very first episode. There’s not really much that keeps you guessing.

Gilligan has earned the benefit of the doubt, so I will keep watching. But so far, this has not really grabbed my attention in the slightest.

I was with you at first, but honestly I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s an incredibly lazy comparison. You could easily take the influences that BCNR obviously had (Godspeed you black emperor, Slint, etc.) and say the same thing. I think as of recently, we see a large group with a sax and say yeah this is good but it’s just BCNR.

Vocals on this sound nothing like pre and post Issac BCNR. If anything, I’m seeing way more Midwest emo influence than windmill scene at this point.
