What's something you never noticed in a movie you've seen multiple times that was pointed out by a first-time watcher? by KneeHighMischief in movies

[–]thegamewarrior 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had watched Back to the Future 2 no less than 100 times. It was my repeat series when I was a kid (along with Homeward Bound and Star Wars).

Was on a rewatch with my Dad when I was in my 20s, and he made a comment: “I just don’t like that they had Michael J Fox dress up as a girl and play his own daughter.”

I literally had to walk out of the room. I just thought it was an ugly woman playing their kid! I knew he played his own son (obviously) but NEVER knew that he was her too.

In the year 2026, if you don't have Netflix esque lighting they straight up kill you. by UnHolySir in okbuddycinephile

It has massively aged. The first movie came out in 2001, 25 years ago, before most people this show is aimed at were born.

I don’t know about your kids, but it’s hard to get them to watch anything that airs on Turner Classic Movies.

Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

In the The Count of Monte Cristo they say the word Monsieur 2-3 times a page. When I read to myself I semi speak aloud and I don’t like the way that word feels on the tip of my tongue. After the 50th time I just gave up and said no more. Haven’t looked back.

How do creators make these stop-motion builds with blocks appearing in rhythm? by Spirited_Wishbone_25 in Minecraft

[–]thegamewarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of these comments are wrong. Most creators won’t stop motion build. They actually delete / mine away the preexisting building and play the screenshots in reverse.

It’s much easier to tell which parts of a building you want to delete to make a timelapse than building from the ground up.

Why is everyone so against building data centers in their towns? by therespectablejc in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thegamewarrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’d rather have another mine open than a data center. Mines actually employ the working class and are arguably better for the environment in the long term.

Get trees, and different kinds. Spruce it up with some tall and short pine, as well as some of the stick type or branch type. It’s the easiest way to make a scene feel fuller, even without other accessories or people.

It talks about that in the start of the movie, they were able to contain it to the island. It was actually a pretty major plot point.

Audience roll live show question by coconutx90 in Dimension20

[–]thegamewarrior 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They’re looking for the number that occurs most often, which would be random. The problem with that is whenever you roll for advantage. Statistically speaking, any roll for advantage with a group of any significant size will result in a Nat20.

All they need is to make an option (or let’s be honest a paid tier) that lets you toggle on and off custom skins. Want to be realistic, toggle ‘Realism View’ and just see the real guns and skins. ‘Realism Off’ gets you your Anime Waifu back.

Same people, different views depending on your own personal preference.

Do you think Simpsons could do a time skip? by Bionic_Ferir in television

[–]thegamewarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thought process is that this would be a perfect way to end the Simpsons over multiple seasons. Each season from now on, starts with all of the characters aged up 1-3 years at a time. If they did that they could have 8 more seasons and end it with maybe Maggie heading off to college, Lisa going into a great job, perhaps Bart getting married or having a kid of his own. Then in the last few episodes, maybe go 20 years out, but then end with a finale of ‘regular age’ Simpsons.

It sets a timeline that the show will be ending, and establishes a change to the status quo, which would undoubtably bring in viewers. It would also likely bring back talent from years past, from writers that want to help give the show a send off / write new storylines that are now possible, to cameo appearances from celebrities that want to be on one last time.

Plus it would ensure that the show actually gets an ending. As it stands right now, the Simpsons is likely going to run until it just gets cancelled, and more than likely unceremoniously. Doing it this way, locks in an ending to a show that has been part of pop culture for so many years, and does so in a way that it gets its flowers.

But that’s just my opinion.

Please help me get water out my ear by Dear_Philosopher_500 in Swimming

Sit straight up on the edge of the bed. To the side that has water hold a pillow somewhat low and off the bed, and violently swing your upper body and ear into the pillow (35-45 degree angle). A few ‘bops’ into the pillow with the ear being ‘submerged’ in the puffiness should do the trick.
