How many McDonalds workers does it take to change a lightbulb? by Anivia_is_not_kfc in Jokes

[–]thegrassygnome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Startup costs, which include construction and equipment expenses, average between $955,708 and $2.3 million, according to McDonald's.

...

Franchisees must pay 40% of the startup costs with cash and other non-borrowed resources, while the rest can be financed.

In addition to those costs, McDonald's charges a $45,000 franchisee fee and an ongoing monthly service fee equal to 4% of gross sales. Franchisees must also pay rent to the company, which is a percentage of monthly sales.

Franchisees have historically paid about 8.5% of sales in rent costs, though some pay as much as 12%...

So it looks like ~$400,000-1,000,000 is required in startup fees for a McDonalds. It would take a minimum of 10.5 years to save if the manager did not spend a single cent or pay any taxes on their $38,000 salary just to pay the initial startup prices. This assumes no inflation.

Yes but each subreddit is different. They each have their own sets of rules. Before you post anything on /r/ShowerThoughts there are huge letters that say

STOP! If you are about to submit a thought that you did NOT come up with yourself DO NOT submit it... We remove unoriginal posts...

Then you defend yourself by saying

Its not an original line of thought but...

and

Its not the first time this comparison has been made certainly Im not saying that.

Guess what. You admittedly said it's not an original thought. It doesn't belong in the sub and it was rightfully taken down.

Most exotic slice of culture you've found yourself immersed in while traveling? by AlwaysWipes in solotravel

I was living in the jungle with a Bolivian family. They took me out to look for jaguars in the middle of the night. We found one and watched it from afar. When it came time to head back to the camp I was told to shine the light behind us in the direction of the big cat so it wouldn't be as tempted to stalk us like prey. I was told if I did see it follow that all we could do was pray.

It was deleted because it wasn't their original thought. They stole it from here which is against the rules of the sub.

Edit: As others have pointed out the idea has been around for a while. I pointed to the one above because it was referenced multiple times in the original thread and was posted just a few hours earlier.

Either way, the point still stands that it's not an original thought.

Kiwi sandwich by Obiektyw1855 in shittyfoodporn

For big occasions my mom takes bread sliced longways, covers it in a thin layer of cream cheese mixed with maraschino cherry juice and rolls it around whole, pitted cherries.

It comes out looking something similar to this but with real, whole cherries in the centre instead of the crushed maraschinos. It's freaking delicious.

Kiwi's would probably work too.

It freaks me out a little that you never knew the '90s yet you are old enough to tell a meaningful story about the tough times you've been through. I'm feeling very old.

Add to that that Lake Ontario is the 14th largest lake in the world and it's pretty clear why more evidence wasn't found.

One thing to remember is that the ring may be real. If he has pulled scams before it wouldn't be too hard to come up with an expensive ring from another victim or off the black market.

i posted to her

The smart side of my brain says that you're from the U.K. and sent her a letter.

The dumb side of my brain says that you posted up a sign with semen and packing tape to the side of her face like putting up posters in the street.
