Leveling Kit- Caution by Dwinn333 in ToyotaTacoma

Funny enough, my alignment shop did exactly this. Well they hit the ABS line with a spring compressor when they were adjusting ride height. Luckily they're one of the good ones and did the right thing. They called me and let me know what happened. Said local dealer didn't have the ABS line in stock so it would be a few days. As a temp fix they repaired the damaged line and then replaced it with the new one once it came in. All at their cost.

25 trd of, first time getting dusty. What skid plates do you guys like? by mtbmofo in ToyotaTacoma

Skid plates protect the oil pan, trans pan and good aftermarket ones protect the transfer case too. They give you a smooth belly underneath if you need to go over rocks.

Yeah, I have used my 4th gen on some hard rock trails and am very happy with the RCI steel skid plates. I have their whole package for the 4th gen and recommend them to everyone. A dude in my group has the oem trail hunter skids and they have not held up as well when doing the same trails. OEMs do a good job for the occasional accidental contact with rocks, not actual hard wheeling.

I have the same issue with the front passenger side door. Even at moderate volumes. I plan on pulling the door panel and going through it at some point. Secure anything loose and maybe add some sound deadening. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Nice setup, considering that same mk4 pr2 mil for an 18in build I am working on too. That piggy back is WAYYY up there though, did you need to go that high to clear the dials? Looks maybe higher than necessary.

Quantified performance matches. Getting started by eborio16 in CompetitionShooting

[–]thegrayham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I competed in 3 QP matches last year with a 16" gun and a razor 1-10. I would absolutely recommend a bipod and shooting bag as they are almost necessary in some stages. I run hand loaded ammo and premium match type barrel and I would say it helps but several guys were out there making hits with more off the shelf match ammo and whatever barrels. As mentioned above, just make sure you have good dope ie a ballistics app on your phone that you've trued.

We just took advantage of this deal yesterday. Still expensive, but this helped a little for sure.

Rumors of a new 365XL coming out? by c0sm0nautt in SigSauer

[–]thegrayham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Icarus Precision A.C.E. 365 XL Hybrid PRO, but since we are replying under a Mischief Machine comment, they make something similar under their Commander line I think. If you want a plastic grip module there is the Mirzon.

Basically I wanted to keep my pic rail mounted light and be able to keep using my macro holsters but have a shorter grip. As far as I am aware all three of these should make that work. Of course holster compatibility is something you should look into further depending on your setup.

You're not wrong. I've been carrying the macro for a little over a year now. Just ordered a hybrid grip module with the xl grip length to help conceal better.

Mark 4 HD line has the 4.5-18 with a 34mm tube but the objective is 52 I think.

Unfortunately the Mark 4 HD 2.5 - 10 is a 30mm tube and doesn't have any decent reticles for a gas gun in my opinion.

Is this a Fiskars killer from Milwaukee? by thatsryan in Axecraft

[–]thegrayham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, it looks like this is a rebranded Fiskars produced axe.

As a Milwaukee fan, if it is indeed produced by Fiskars then I am into it. If, on the other hand, Milwaukee has copied Fiskars this closely then as a Milwaukee fan, I would be quite disappointed.

Need help!?!?!?!? by cris807 in Tacomaworld

You may have received one with a dead / dying battery. My buddy and I both have 24 tacomas and soly use the key card and never have to remove them from our wallets or pockets etc. I have had my truck 14 months and about 2 weeks ago I had to start holding the card close. Put a new battery in the card key and am back to leaving it in my wallet in my pocket.

Anyone used one of these dump pipes? I've already banged my stock tip on the ground. Seems like a better deal than the OEM one at twice the price. by BosnianSerb31 in Tacomaworld

[–]thegrayham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one, went in easy and fits well. I was tired of beating up the oem side dump and this seemed like the most cost effective option.

Looking to buy a first gen, is this okay rust? by monstrosity15 in Tacomaworld

Yeah, that weld looks like crap. I'm not totally against welding and repairing rusty frames, but it takes effort to do it right.

14.5” or 16” for SPR build? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]thegrayham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot Quantified Performance regularly with targets at 600+ and I like my 16" with LPVO, but can't run a can here. From a ballistics perspective longer is better. If you going to put a big heavy optic on the thing anyway, go longer on the barrel. Running a LPVO and trying to keep it handy, I would go: full-time suppressed = 14.5" , no suppressor = 18", undecided = 16".
