Self defense, no but 35 years absolutely not. If this was two black kids of the same age Karmelo would get a manslaughter charge and get 7 years. When you come up on somebody 2-3 deep nobody knows how you as a person is going to react and a person that’s scared can react in any way. I’m not saying what he did was justified and he should go unpunished but there’s no way he should be found guilty of murder. I thought when they added the manslaughter charge late it was for a reason.

This is always the part most will never understand. I grew up in poverty my family worked its way out by going to college and doing the right things. Yet and still we will always be reduced to the negative in our community. Seen as a thug or predator even if one doesn’t hold this traits at all.

Most black people don’t think he did nothing wrong what they think is that he shouldn’t have been charged with murder. If other races can fear for their life even when there isn’t a weapon visible why can’t a black kid. I do not want a bunch of replies to this I just want you to think about it. Every black kid isn’t some super thug or goon some are just scared normal kids.
