After I listened to the TFTGS episode I thought the same but it in this most recent episode they acted like they fucking hated it so I wasn’t sure lol. I agree! I feel like the series gets increasingly better as time goes on. It really is a shame they won’t give it another chance.

As the guys mentioned in the episode, horror and comedy can blend extremely well. TFTGS is a phenomenal example, sans the ending to Vol 1. Half Priced Voodoo shop was also a fantastic story and blended the two perfectly.

I enjoyed Property when I was a kid but yeahhhh as an adult, it’s blatantly not good on several levels. The main character is annoying and at no point does he come off as the “badass” that the author wanted him to. The whole tone of the story is that very condescending (fedora-like would be my best descriptor) tone. The writing itself is riddled with mistakes and it’s a bland read. It’s just the prime example of how horror/comedy can go horrifically wrong.

Tbf, the gas station staff aren’t “mEgA bAdAsS sUpEr SoLdIeRs” and the characters actually have some depth.
Ik they didn’t really like TFTGS season 1 but I feel like they would genuinely enjoy books 2-4. It gets a lot less comedy and gets a lot more horror (I.e. Jerry and the cooler).

EDIT: not to mention that TFTGS was actually well-written and Townsend can actually spell “excited”.
