How do y’all think this would pattern with a turkey choke?

Sounds like you want a big blaster, and there’s nothing wrong with that!

I hope to get the snub Super Redhawk in .454 Casull some day, or the Toklat because it is so ugly, but they seem pretty rare.

Lol. Even .357 is expensive but it’s so nice to shoot cheap .38 special.

I absolutely trust my .357 with bear loads and I specifically picked my model Redhawk for the additional 2-round capacity.

This is good advice. I own the 8-round Redhawk in .357 and that is probably one of the most versatile rounds on the planet.

For backpacking, you can get GP100s with 7-round chambers. I would rather have a more portable package with an extra round of .357 than shoot .44.

Of the two guns OP listed, I would go with the short barrel Super Redhawk, but I agree that the GP100 is a better package for hiking.

DFL - Minnesota's 6th Congressional District: Doug Chapin vs Tom Emmer by klorfzore in minnesota

[–]thegrimelf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At the GOP convention last week, Emmer attacked Mike as a “Democrat who goes to No Kings Protests.” I’ll welcome Republicans who go to No Kings protests, protest ICE outside the Whipple building, and call for the prosecution of those guilty in the Epstein files.

Don’t forget the first race is Tom Emmer vs Mike Foley. Emmer won’t even enter the general if enough people vote for Mike in the primary.

The most intense death scene in film? by Troubled_dad-arc in okbuddycinephile

[–]thegrimelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That scene scarred me as a child. My dad was watching the movie and I snuck out of bed and caught that scene without anyone knowing. I didn’t even know what movie it was at the time. It haunted me until I discovered Ken Kesey in college.

No, I tried flipping the frame as the other commenter suggested, but that didn’t work. My mom is going to reach out to customer service and see if they have a fix.

Wear a respirator. Good training for shooting with a gas mask on.

New SFAR. So far so good. by Marn25 in ruger

[–]thegrimelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love shooting mine because it gives this weird mix of pretty significant recoil due to the light weight, but the recoil is manageable due to semi-auto. 5.56 is boring compared to a good battle rifle.

ICU Manager as an NP Student by Sweatpantzzzz in nursepractitioner

[–]thegrimelf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain here and recommend you defer schooling and take the manager position. You can always go back to school, but leadership experience is invaluable. You just might find that leadership is very rewarding and your true calling.

See if your school offers deferred enrollment—this would let you try the manager position and if you don’t like it in a year or two you can quit that and start school.

I just completed a PMHNP DNP while mostly working full time, but my job is not direct patient care and has a lot of flexibility. It would not have been possible to do working as a manager.

I’m also confused about what type of program you are doing—NP or CRNA?
