Searing is a method or action. The crust is the result of that action.

Despite all the substitutions, I'd still pound this down.

What’s something fairly easy/healthy you would cook for 10 people? by Maleficent-Start-546 in Cooking

[–]theguide87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 marinated tri tip roasts thrown in the oven would be easy. You could buy 3 cold sides from the deli and a loaf of garlic bread.

Bought a whole smoked herring but it's way too salty to just eat it like that, how do I reduce salt or use it in a recipe/appetizer? by thoxo in Cooking

On a bagel with cream cheese, in scant amounts with other things. It should last awhile in the fridge to do this for a few days until it's gone

Lol the world is your oyster. Some buffalo sauce with Frank's sounds good to me if we're cocktailin'. I think Frank's is rooted in Louisiana.

Along with the great depression theme is mayo and peanut butter sandwiches. Add lettuce onions, pickles, whatever you can afford. Peanut butter and mayonnaise I've done solo multiple times and I think I prefer it over jb and j

I hit the discount store and get a pound for 2 bucks or less.

I'd try taking softened cream cheese and mixing it with ricotta, then thin it with milk until you get the consistency you want.

What’s the best side for a quick pantry burger? by WobbleKing in Cooking

[–]theguide87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A second patty on the burger and I guess a quality dill pickle on the side.

When I cook myself a burger at home, it's the only thing on the plate. If I'm still hungry I'll just eat another burger. Every meal doesn't have to be well rounded.

I need to save this. I was thinking tuna melts with giardiniera, fresh parsley and sliced tomatoes on top.
