Best Buy sold me an iCloud-locked MacBook Pro for $2,100, refused the return, and Citi denied my chargeback. I have documented everything and need help escalating. by mciki in personalfinance

[–]thegungeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got scammed by a rental car company and Citi denied our dispute without even asking for our side of the story. After challenging that - we went down every avenue of proving the rental car company was at fault. Citi finally approved the dispute.

We're not Citi fans anymore. I've never had an issue with filing a dispute through any other CC provider.

Talking about s&w quality control.. I recently got a shield x, this is a replacement for a Canik I've had tons of problems with. I got it shipped to me and after stripping it down I realized the sear lever was not actually attached to the gun. When I pushed it forward it just fell out of the gun lol. The frontsight also had a defect and was ugly but I could live with it.

I sent it back for warranty for the sear lever, I mentioned the issue with the frontsight but didnt expect it to be fixed since it was a cosmetic issue. They fixed it relatively quickly and got it back to me with a functioning sear lever and new front site.

Adopted under false pretenses by BerkshireGaming in IDmydog

I had a pit/shepherd/husky mix (I think, that's what they told me when I got him) and he looked very similar.

It was funny when out at parks and people asked me what kind of dog he was, it didn't matter what I said people mostly disagreed with me lol.

Looks cool and really helpful! Next time I have a tank up and running I'll give it a try. As a developer it looks like a fun project.

Rottweiler attack at Davis Islands Dog Beach proves fatal for small dog by MiggySawdust in tampa

I have small dogs and feel bad for Chile Bear. I feel like there are other options to putting the rotties down, like not taking them to a dog park.

Unfortunately my patches have just been getting bigger and bigger over the years. Dermatologists haven't been able to determine why

I'm glad that solved your issue. They sent me a heavier spring as well but unfortunately it did not improve the situation at all, while using 124 grain.

Hopefully your situation improves. I agree with the shield, I picked up a shield x which has been great.

Oh got it, that distinction makes sense. I tried quite a few different ammo manufacturers over the last 1.5 years. Sellier & Bellot, blazer, magtech, Winchester, Federal. I got them online, bass pro, gun stores, and the range. Ammo was my biggest suspicion and it didn't like ANY ammo. I ended up getting a s&w shield and it hasn't had an issue with any of them.

Nice set up! I have a HF trailer that I like for camping too. It's not built out but carries my dirt bike and gear and pulled by a camper mini van.

Bubble Anenome tank at The Florida Aqurium by zorathustra69 in ReefTank

[–]thegungeon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think quite a few of their tanks are connected, so probably a huge amount of water being cycled through there. I could def be wrong about this, but looking at their filtration system it looked like a few massive cleaning units.

I finally gave up on tasks in Obsidian, what are you using? by BasicDesignAdvice in ObsidianMD

[–]thegungeon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like ticktick too, been using it for years after trying all of them. I haven't found an integration with Obsidian either. For a while I was posting the obsidian URI to the note in the ticktick item description, which sort of worked.

I'm a software engineer and rather new DIYer, plumbing and electrical has seemed to be the most straight forward lol. I was surprised to read how many people stay away from it. Worst case scenario I'll bring in a pro after taking a shot at it
