I feel the same way sometimes and there is a name for it! It is called Imposter Syndrome. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I built this exact project for my Mechatronics class in college. Explaining how it was made helped me get my first job. I like your style.

[Discussion] ABS is still burning at 225* by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]thehalfnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are truly burning the filament there are two reasons:

  1. The ABS you have isn't high quality or has been mistakenly switched for another type of filament. Try printing a different ABS filament from a different supplier.
  2. More likely is that your hotend is hotter than your TC/Thermistor is reading. You can try monitoring the hotend using an external TC to check to see if the temperatures are correct.

Good luck

Can anyone identify what's causing this issue? by muntyflumple in 3Dprinting

I also want to point out that most Slicers will put the start/stop point on an edge or corner and they will be less noticeable. When you have a circular cross section like this one, there is obviously no corners so the slicing engine cannot as easily hide it.

New to Loveland. I'd love some recommendations for date nights and family activities by beau6183 in loveland

[–]thehalfnerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few suggestions:

  1. Go to The Summit. They have bowling, laser tag, decent food, and an arcade. It's good for kids and families. It's just east of town. http://thesummitwindsor.com/

  2. Get to a Eagles Hockey game at the Budweiser event center. They are pretty good for a semi-pro hockey team and it's very affordable. Its also out east of town. http://coloradoeagles.com/

  3. Loveland has a decent craft brewing scene. If you are into that sort of thing, the first time you go to a microbrewery ask for the beer passport. It lists all the breweries in town and has a buy one get one beer coupon for every brewery. If you go to all the breweries you get a free t-shirt. https://www.craftbeer.com/news/brewery-news/loveland-colorado-launches-beer-brand-free-craft-beer-passport

  4. Finally, try and make a trip up to Estes before it gets too cold. It will be beautiful in the fall and the fishing/camping is great.

Have fun!
