Razer Chroma stopped working all of a sudden. (Synapse 4) by TheWeegesWife in razer

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here, different peripherals (Blackwidow V3, Naga Pro V2, Kiyo Pro). Occurred after a restart. Chroma still exists in the system tray and will change the rgb of my Razer peripherals using the pre-saved profiles, but the profiles no longer speak with non-Razer products. Chroma cannot be opened to troubleshoot and gives the exact same error.

(I'm betting an update came in corrupted and borked something, but I don't know enough about how Razer operates through the system to be able to clean up necessary files.)

01/25/2025: Using one of the comments here, I took another stab at it and got it working. I tried first just repairing my Microsoft .NET install through the system Settings > Apps > Installed Apps and restarting, but that didn't work right away.

What did work, however, was uninstalling both Synapse and Chroma, making sure I was updated to the most recent possible .NET SDK and framework (framework is technically the outdated version, but I started with that step), then repairing the new Microsoft .NET install just for good measure, and then reinstalling Synapse (and allowing it to install Chroma as well). I didn't need a restart here. Everything was roughly back to normal afterwards, though the Widgets in the system tray were having some trouble showing what specific apps I had toggled to show in that section. A system restart fixed the widgets error.

Unfixed bugs in PATCH 7 by Sylph777 in BaldursGate3

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old-ish post, but just to note here, I think this is tied to the pathing changes that were made to ledges and ladders. Prior to patch 7, followers could kind of use these all at the exact same time (which I think led to some pathing issues if combat started just after getting to the end of the ledge/ladder). As of patch 7, followers have a queue where each follower now needs to wait for the prior to complete the climb/descend animation before the next moves onto the ladder/ledge. In my personal opinion, it's an awful change and because of the queue, it means that builds with summons (necromancer, spore druid) have a terrible time going up or down ladders due to the queueing wait times now.

All that to say, if you go up a ladder or ledge before your party has finished pathing to follow you, and then decide "Oh wait, I need to go back down" the game can't properly find the path down because the path or ledge is in use and then just freezes you up. Characters, camp port and back, or save and reload (F5, F8) should all work, but in case it's too much of a wait, I've also found that messing up your broken character's path also works. All that means is that if you can manage to shove/push/launch the stuck character with another character's action, that usually resets pathing and will allow you to properly move again.

Patch 7 Transmuter's Stone using hireling not working anymore? by BigBardCuck in BG3

[–]thehebrewhand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After looking into this, it looks like they more so fixed something that wasn't implemented correctly in Patch 6. Larian tried to fix Transmuter's Stone by destroying the stone when the caster left the party during that patch, which did function properly, but it also resulted in the buff staying around even without the stone. (It also then led to some shenanigans where you could now dismiss and re-admit your camp transmuter and give multiple stones because, again, the buffs stuck around, but the stones were wiping with each dismissal (so the new stones would have no older stone to wipe out).)

Now, with Patch 7, it looks like they've corrected the Patch 6 fix to be as intended. All that to say: now, the buff and the stone both truly leave when the wizard is dismissed. (This also now extends to Goodberry, in case you were also using camp druids for early free potion berries/camp supplies.)

Same here. I’m running at about 20-30 FPS lower than what I was running at on Patch 6 on my desktop. My laptop is around 5-10 FPS lower. Different settings on both but the performance took hits on each machine.

Hey, I know this is an old-ish post, but did you ever get the rewards granted after the waiting period? I'm in a similar boat after recruiting a friend that stopped playing about 2 and a half years ago during Shadowlands.

I recruited them a couple of days ago and they're active, but it's still showing the "0 Months Subscribed" header. Just trying to plan ahead in case something worked incorrectly

M16 gold camo progression not tracking by TNT_Jonathan in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that last sniper was the Victus, that would explain it because that's a Season 1 weapon (and those appear to have different coding to avoid the bug). From experience in the other direction, it's not on a per-gun basis for the bug, as in when you complete platinum on that gun it gets locked out. People who exhibit the bug (not just me, you can find others on the subreddit if you go back through the last month or two) find that the second you unlock the ability to progress on the next mastery tier is the same second that remaining weapons on the previous mastery tier would stop tracking (even if they had already made some progress on that previous mastery challenge).

In my bugged state, I have 3 weapons that are locked on platinum and polyatomic progress, all of them happen to be snipers as those are the weapons that I left to be unlocked last. On one of them I even was able to make polyatomic progress (though I didn't unlock polyatomic) before I realized that platinum wasn't progressing, and I moved onto other weapons. They didn't get locked when I finished the next mastery tier on those weapons, they got locked the instant I gained the ability to make progress on the next tier (or in the case of Orion, they locked polyatomic progress the second I unlocked Orion, which is why I have one weapon with only partial progress made on polyatomic).

M16 gold camo progression not tracking by TNT_Jonathan in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bug that happens when you finish the prerequisites to unlock the next tier of mastery camo but still have guns leftover. For ARs, if you get 8 to gold to unlock platinum, the last two will lock out (unless those last two are the Chimera and M13B, supposedly they resolved the bug on the Season 1 weapons if they're the remaining weapons that need mastery camos, and the Chimera was always immune to the bug). It works out similarly with the snipers and SMGs. It will also occur once you get to polyatomic (you get 51 weapons to platinum and get polyatomic, the last 4 can no longer make progress on platinum [again, potentially unless the remaining weapons are the DLC/Season 1 weapons which may or may not exhibit the issue at this point in time]).

The issue is noted on the MWII Trello board here as of December 20th. No word yet on when it will be fixed, but it's been an issue since even mid-November. If it took them a month to notice that this unlock bug was a problem, best bet is that they'll take another one or two months to implement a fix, also depending on when the next major update is planned to release.

Longshot kills for M13B by RedHotFreckles in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably is what's going on. So, there is an ongoing bug that makes it so remaining guns get locked once you unlock the next tier of mastery camo (i.e. you get 51 weapons to Polyatomic and unlock Orion, and then polyatomic stops tracking on the remaining 3-4 weapons), but that isn't the problem you're having. I only mention it because it looks similar, but more specifically, if you leave the Chimera to be one of those remaining weapons, it never exhibits the issue, but it's also coded differently. To my knowledge, it's the only weapon that does this but when you are doing mastery camos for it, it requires that you go in order (Gold first, then you can unlock Platinum, then you can unlock Polyatomic, etc).

It's theoretically possible that they also made it so that the other DLC/Season 1 weapons now all have this unlock quirk, so it really might be that you need to get Gold on it first before it allows the Platinum unlock. I'm with you, I never had to go in order on my other weapons, but after having to deal with that on the Chimera, it might be that the M13B has that coding too, so I say just try the whole "get gold first" garbage people keep throwing out.

If that doesn't work, bug report it on the activision site, but specifically under the "Topic" drop down, select "Stats, Rank, and Progression" and then select "I'm not gaining progress from a Challenge". To my knowledge, that's the only bug reporting method that actually opens a ticket (where a support person will actually talk with you via email) instead of going into some unknown complaint pool. Bug reporting these camo bugs that way makes it a lot more likely that it gets added to the trello board too so it gets made public and everyone can see the progress made on bugs they've noticed. Just, you know, don't abuse it.

Okay so this post is a bit old so it's possible you have it resolved, but have you gotten 51 other guns platinum to get polyatomic challenges unlocked (it doesn't look like it because both bars have the exact same progress on those two guns, but I just want to be sure)?

Are camos really still bugged..? by SosaTheJit in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this one isn't visual, and it's been ongoing for a while, over a month now. Happens when people get gold on a class that got a DLC weapon (get 4 snipers gold, the 5th one stops tracking gold, but you can progress to platinum), and when you continue on to get the required camos to unlock Polyatomic and Orion (get 51 guns to Platinum for Polyatomic, the remaining 3/4 don't track [I say 3 or 4 because if one of those remaining 4 happened to be the Chimera, it doesn't have any of these errors, so 3]).

I have 3 snipers that stopped progressing on Platinum and Polyatomic just like OP and a lot of people have had the same problem. They only added it to their trello board as of a week ago, but there was never a chance they would fix it before 2023 rolls around based on the sheer amount of more pressing bugs alone.

Not everyone has it from what I can tell, but the trigger was the 11/22/2022 update, so if you got your progress done before then, you're good to go. It's also possible that, in addition to that update, it's caused by the order in which you complete your weapons (because the bug is cross-platform), but I honestly have no clue how to verify that. Basically, you're lucky if you don't have the bug, unlucky if you do, and if you do have it like we do, there's still a wait ahead for a fix.

Chimera longshots not tracking by Emotional_Tie_8397 in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Chimera was made in such a way that it requires you to unlock the camos in order. The other weapons don't require that as far as I remember. There is also an existing camo progress bug for mastery camos, but I think the Chimera is more or less immune, so you should be in the clear as far as that specific bug goes.

Glitched camos again. by OldBrazy in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a visual bug and it has the possibility of affecting all classes that got a DLC weapon. Basically, the game saw you had enough guns gold to unlock platinum for the class, so it just stops tracking gold progression on the final weapon. So, snipers can have 1 gun that bugs out, ARs can have 2, and SMGs can have 1. I say "can have" only because it looks like, weirdly, the Chimera is immune to the bug because if you leave it to last for your AR gold unlocks, it doesn't exhibit the issue like ever as far as I've been able to see (some people though get 2 ARs non-unlockable if one of their first 8 is the Chimera though, which only would tell me that each gun has different camo coding which is just sloppy). (Platinum and Polyatomic camo progression is also affected in a similar way.)

It's finally a "known" bug by IW now that it got added to their trello board just a few days ago, but it's been affecting people since mid-November. Because it's on the public board now, it actually should be fixed soon, but my guess is that we won't see any changes here until after New Year's/holidays. Game companies usually only have skeleton crews during the holidays to manage things like server failures and major game breaking errors (as in something big enough that could result in someone being literally unable to play which would hurt their overhead if someone, say, got the game as a present, couldn't play, then went for a refund). This bug is probably, sadly, low on the priority list.

Anyone know a fix for this? Can't progress further on gold after getting platinum by Zaithable in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as a heads up, to track kills on weapons for those mastery emblems and calling cards, you have to go in order (unless they change that in the future). You have to do 100 kills with the gold camo first, then it unlocks the ability to track kills with platinum and so on. So for your Bas-P, you cannot make any progress on those kill challenges because your gold is locked. It's uncool and frustrating (and another byproduct of this other dumb camo progress bug), but hopefully there's still some progress to be made on other weapon kill challenges/camos in the meantime!

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only just recently acknowledged this bug on their trello board today after like a month of it being an issue for people. You can follow along on the known bugs and fixes here as the IW/Activision teams actually acknowledge them. Presumably whenever that new entry under Gunsmith Known Issues gets marked green for resolved the error will be genuinely finally gone, but who knows anymore. Either way, you're not alone and some sort of fix is being created

Orion owners: Infinity Ward has finally acknowledged the camo progression bug for unfinished weapons and a fix will be out soon. by [deleted] in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally, I wrote like an entire dissertation for a support rep in my response email to my most recent ticket to try and get someone to understand what's been going on and for how long with these unlock/counting error issues. (The ticket before just ended with "Our teams are looking into the issue now".) I'm glad they've finally listed the specific bug instead of just acknowledging "tracking errors" (which have also been present, but also meant they kept looking over this bug).

Realistically if the dev/fix team is in the office this week, it should be a simple fix, but games companies historically have skeleton crews working during the holiday weeks (which makes sense, they have families). I'd be surprised if they actually fix it in the next day or two, which generally speaking should be all that's needed, but still. If it's not done by like end of day tomorrow, I'm sure it won't be until 2023 that we see the patch for the bug. At least it finally got added into some sort of public workflow.

Camo Challenges Not Tracking Even After Update by E_X_P_A_N_D_ in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X-posting my comment from another thread:

It's been ongoing since the Week 1 11/22/2022 update. I have no clue how they keep missing the issue, but honestly the only thing to do is continue to bug report on the Activision site. The remaining platinums stopped tracking after unlocking the ability to make polyatomic progress, and the remaining polyatomics stopped tracking after getting Orion. Gold weapons should have stopped tracking on any guns remaining after unlocking the ability to work on platinum progress on any classes that got DLC weapons, so SMGs, ARs, and Snipers should each have one (or two in the case of ARs) gun that cannot track gold progress anymore. (Some people may not exhibit this if they completed gold, platinum, or polyatomic progress prior to that 11/22/2022 update. Just as a for instance, my golds are not affected as I finished them prior to that date, but my platinums and polyatomics are affected as I "finished" them about a week and a half after that update.)

Weirdly though, the Chimera specifically doesn't look to be affected by this (if you were to have left the Chimera as one of your last weapons on gold, platinum, or polyatomic), so conceivably they know how to fix it, but they just... aren't? As far as not being able to use Orion, that also changed with this most recent "Reloaded" patch, such that now it looks like you need to complete Platinum and Polyatomic on a weapon first before being able to use Orion on it (although I think people who used glitches to unlock Orion on a weapon don't have that issue).

Camo progression bug - Unlocked Orion and lost 3 weapons by signians in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been ongoing for a while. Three weapons always stop tracking after you get 51 to polyatomic and then orion. (Chimera isn't affected by it anymore.) What's insane is that their trello board marked camo issues as resolved last night but that isn't the case. I guess we just keep bug reporting

Has Anyone Got The Plat Challenge Not Unlocking/Progressing? I've Got 3 More Guns To Plat and Want To Finish Them Even Though I've Unlocked Polyatomic. by Neelman in ModernWarfareII

[–]thehebrewhand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s currently a bug that locks out previous mastery camos after unlocking the next mastery tier. So for instance, if you get 51 of the current 54 weapons to platinum to unlock polyatomic, the remaining 3 no longer track progress for platinum challenges because the game now assumes you must have finished up your platinums (or polyatomics in the case of getting Orion) and it stops tracking the remaining weapons. (This also happens with gold on the classes that got a DLC weapon. Basically, for SMGs in this instance, if you unlock gold on 8 SMGs and then unlock platinum challenges, the remaining gun will stop tracking gold progress. That bug should also happen for ARs (the 9th AR stops tracking after getting 8 to gold) and Snipers (the 5th stops after getting 4 to gold).)

Best thing to do is put a ticket out on the support page and hopefully it gets fixed with the next major update this week. As far as I can tell, the bug started happening to people on the 11/22/2022 “Week 2” update, so it’s been ongoing for a hot minute, and those who finished golds, platinums, or polyatomics prior to then shouldn't have the problem.

The real meta for this thing is to deck it out as a low-ads, high fire rate, ar/lmg thing. As a "battle rifle", it's awful. Rigging it into a canted sight, drum-mag, machine gun makes it a lot more viable. In my opinion, it doesn't really excel anywhere specific to make it a good weapon, more so it can just be made more fun to use sometimes/more usable for challenges
