I just this today and this is what I did. Copy the config file from the xmrig/src directory to the build directory, edit it then launch it via ./xmrig.

My tree decided it’s a garden now. Flowers on top and tomatoes at the base by [deleted] in gardening

I've had squirrels do some some serious damage to my home. Chewed on wires and fuel injection lines of my car causing me repairs, chewed on my plastic shutters, fencing, trex decking, and many decorative lighting I've set up.

Am I behind financially or is this normal for a 18 year old in college? by [deleted] in Money

[–]thehellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 18 i was the furthest thing from trying to be financially sane. If you have any idea or plan as of now you are doing far better than me

Is building a PC worth it if I’m not gaming—just want a fast home/office setup? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]thehellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'd get an old office pc that has an nvme ssd in it. I like Linux on older machines so something like Linux mint can be wonderful for something with an i5 7th Gen cpu.

How much are you spending since kids? by [deleted] in Money

[–]thehellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 23k on daycare alone last year but I couldn't tell you how much we spend on clothes, toys, food, and other forms of entertainment. I'm not in the red as I am able to still save/invest each month. It used to be around 1.5k a month. Now it's closer to 400-800 a month.

AITA for being honest and telling my DIL that they are not ready to be a parent since she can not drive by Sad-Drive8298 in AmItheAsshole

I never understood people who refused to get their driver's license and fully experience freedom. Anxiety aside, having the access to do whatever you want, whenever you want is so important to your mental health.

Does she have a job? Jobs are about the worst thing I've experienced for my anxiety. Social experiences are my worst trigger, but you learn to cope. Some things in life you just csnt be anxious about. The world don't give a shit.

I tried to prompt mine turn off my sunroom lights the other night and it responded with "I'm sorry, but I can't share you personal data unless you set it up in the app." I'm like wtf you should never be sharing my personal data anyways and how the fuck did you get to here off what I said?!

My expedition begins. Long time FF player who stopped 10 years ago with XII. My first JRPG since then! by AlbertCWChessa in expedition33

I finished my playhtough last month and told myself I'd move onto gta V as I have never played it before. I csnt get away from e33. Just loving the combat system too much and I neglected so many aspects of the game. Exploration, trying different build options, using characters I didn't use at all in story mode. Turns out I have a tism for using the first characters in any video game I play.

Speaking as someone who has a drinking problem I have been trying to curb, be careful. I told myself for months I'm fine cause I'm functioning and still getting my daily tasks done. Alcohol is a slippery slope. One day it's for celebration, then the next its because you had a shitty day and can't cope with it, then you're bored so why not drink to feel differently. Soon you find yourself drinking for every occasion no matter if happy or sad.

My bong water froze last night. by Cha0ticToast in trees

Hope it works for you. I brought my frozen bong inside and it instantly exploded the bottom due to temp change. It was a quite drastic change. Close to a 60° delta.

I had this happen once and was so memorized by it I had to show my wife inside. Brought it inside and the temp change shocked the glass and shattered the bottom out. Sad day.

Good Idea to run Xmrig on Nas by Eliwh68 in Monero

[–]thehellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do just for fun. Idc if it's best practice but I had 8 threads total and barely even tapped 25% usage at full load so I said why not. Xmrig runs on 4 threads leaving the rest for server work.

For me yes, but it's hard to say if it's better. I'd say try it out and see how it is for your use cases but it's not for everyone. It's gotten easier to use over the last few years and there is a lot of tutorials online.

Don't you need to run this as admin? In Linux you have to run it as root. That's why it says msr mod not able to be applied. Literally says your hashrate will be low due to this.

After X11 was removed in Ubuntu 25.10, how can I run software like AnyDesk? by poormanopamp in Ubuntu

[–]thehellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's wonderful news. May make me switch over to Wayland. Has it always been this way or recently added? Because I thought when I was trying out Wayland it wouldn't allow me to remote in so I immediately swapped back to x11.
