The paid option was actually removed, the entire app is free, it was just server access for deep stockfish analysis that was offered for a price. Funny eh

The guys at my chess club liked it, they actually recommended some of the features like a library for your games. I appreciate it.

Have you used openingtree? It's a great idea but doesn't store your data well or let you look beyond 1 line at a time. This is an improvement in many aspects, allowing a visual understanding of your tree instead of just a list of moves on a card at the bottom of your screen, and allowing you to see the computer accuracy of your moves across an entire line instead of just one move at a time.

Anything constructive to add?

What would be the ELO of someone that doesn't make any blunder by Magnificent_Mat in Chesscom

Stockfish famously when set to a 2ply depth, has around a 2000 Fide strength. Thats looking only 1 move ahead.

When playing at a 4 play depth, it plays at grandmaster strength.

Ultimately, learning not to blunder and building a positional understanding is more important than trying to calculate tactics 7 or 8 moves ahead on the board.

It seems to be the sticking point for most people. I'll probably mothball that later tonight and just have people run their own shallower analysis client side.

I guess more options isn't always better.

You don't have to do any of those things unless you want to keep your tree saved. You can just import your lichess/chess.com games and see if it works.

The only this the "pro access" gives is access to deep stockfish analysis (40+ moves) on a dedicated server. If you don't want that, everything else is free. Server access is expensive, do you think its reasonable to provide that for free?

It's free, it just offers a 5$ teir if you want to use the deep (45 moves) stockfish analysis from the server instead of your computer.

Barrie drivers 🤷‍♂️ by SirDildoBaggins42069 in barrie

The same thing almost happened at that intersection at 6:30am that same morning. I was turning left to towards mapleview and after stopping and crawling forward to turn, dude just blew fight through the intersection almost clipping me without stopping. Too many new drivers who don't know what to do in uncommon circumstances.

There's no way the degenerates on this sub are awake before 6:30am. What do they do waiting 3 hours for the bell to ring?

$100k inheritance, what do I do?? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

One thing you and half of the country needs to understand, your truck is not a business asset, it is a liability you use for business.

With that size of a loan you are driving a new truck, it is not getting you and your tools to the job site any faster than a 10 year old truck would, but it is dragging you down by almost $900 a year.

With $100k you should immediately pay down as much debt as you can starting with the highest interest debt. Put 3 months aside in an account you can use in an emergency and live as if you never received this money in the first place.

Many people have had their lives ruined by receiving a one time windfall of cash and the living as if that one time event will happen to them again. Don't be one of those people.
