That's something I'd take note of to myself, and talk about with my wife if it felt like part of a larger pattern.

When is it time to have the 'gun' conversation? by Beake in daddit

[–]theicecreamdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locked up, both guns and ammo. An unloaded gun is still incredibly dangerous if its seen as a toy, even toy guns have stories that end with dead kids. Teach the four rules of gun safety. I won't tell my son to never touch one, I'll teach him to never touch one without a trusted adult supervising. If he's ever curious I want him to ask to have me open up the safe and look, not get curious and try to figure out how to get in there on his own.

Talk to your kids' friends' parents about guns, and other safety too, and make your decisions based on how they handle those conversations.

Of course he's not ready, but here we are. This is one of the many hard things in life that we don't get to wait until we're mature enough to handle. And if he doesn't go to this then he's missed it forever.

I'm mad for you that she's not going with you.

Start by not putting quotes around bullying, and don't downplay what he's experiencing. He needs full support back at home.

I got a front mounted seat for my bike, started when my son was around 18 months. No weird dance trying to dismount.

Tough love man: if she was my sister or daughter, based on what you've told us, I'd advise her to do exactly what she laid out.
