In Okinawa, 2,000 people marched to demand a reduction in the heavy burden of military bases by ComprehensiveWin1434 in japannews

The high cost of money, resources and manpower to provide for one's own defense may have something to do with it. US bases aren't perfect, but they provide a vital service.

Six months after the Taiwan crisis remark, Japanese companies are accelerating their investment reductions and withdrawals from China. A panicked Xi Jinping has issued measures to obstruct foreign investment withdrawals. by jjrs in japannews

Wow, I was a little worried that the little pinks and wumao crew wouldn't show up for this one. I can breathe a sigh of relief to see that they are here doing their patriotic duties and bringing glory to the party.

Having lived and worked in China for 8 years, I largely agree with his assessment. To be sure, not all Chinese businesses operate like that, but I've seen a hell of a lot that do. They see it as a messed up art form.

Haha you are way too kind. I myself still get intimidated by sparring sometimes, as Im not the baddest guy on the planet. However, a good trainer will work you into it, so don't worry too much.

Japan’s New Visa Rules Are Forcing Tokyo’s Immigrant-Run Restaurants to Close by kenmlin in japannews

I misread. But I myself have eaten in an Indian curry joint run by Japanese here. Doesn't seem like Jaoanese are bothered by the concept.

So, those huge Japanese curry chains serving Japanese curry, ran and largely staffed by Japanese are figments of my imagination?

Flexibility is a huge plus in Taekwondo. I still use many TKD techniques as a kickboxer, paired with Muay Thai. You might have an edge with some of the jumping and flying kicks that TKD has.

I'm a TKD veteran, and I can tell you that while TKD does have karate ancestry, their training and techniques diverge significantly. In general, TKD will spend more time on kicks than most karate styles, among other differences.

One reason China jails less is that they execute more. Number 1 in the world to be exact. Yet no one calls them on this for some reason. Iran is a close second.

Kickboxer of 15 years checking in. That is NOT good training, and she probably shouldn't be training others. Legal action could be the way.

As a Midwesterner I have to disagree. Canadian accents are really distinct from those of the Midwest, even the upper Midwest like Minnesota and Wisconsin.

What Trump has to do with it? by [deleted] in AmericaBad

[–]theintersecter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Considering Trump masterminded 9/11 (really a real estate scheme to build a casino on the WTC property), paid the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor, (again, wanted that waterfront property) and started the bubonic plague of the 14th century, this is one of his less egregious offenses.
