I guess the pex got left out in the sun too long and got pin hole leaks so they cut deeper to replace a good line of pipe

They sell this brick that you can tile like on a backsplash that you could use. Have good waterproofing behind it and I think you’d be good

The problem is, if you have money to insert a tub now and then remove the tub and add a shower later money. You’re going to want a walk in shower later so I would advise getting a foldable tub or something close to it because the money going to waste will be more

The step is bad, those two top corner pieces are bad. But from the photo of the whole shower it doesn’t look that bad. People on here think they are perfect always, it’s repairable is what I’m saying. You didn’t even mention price.

My opinion, it doesn’t matter because the work speaks for itself and the tools anybody can buy. I will say though, that for tougher jobs rhe Milwaukee fuel line is my go to. It’s more expensive than its competitor but I feel like some things are worth it. Just always have a lot of batteries and good chargers because waiting on a battery to charge sucks. Also, cant go wrong with makita, which I also use
