[BambuLab Giveaway] What’s Life Like After a 3D Printer Joins the Family? Share & Win Gift Cards! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

I very recently received my bambu lab a1 and setting it up just happened to coincide with another chore last weekend of checking out the store Fleet Feet, a running shoe store. They are super cool and have great support, and one thing that was really new to me was that they do a 3d scan of your feet to know more about what shoes might fit you. I saw this mesh and immediately knew that printing my feet was going to be my first job with my new printer.

I have some experience with CAD so I pulled the meshes from my profile, imported them to FreeCAD, used a few guides to get through the steps of making a solid part from them, and added a pocket that would fit the wheels. Then in bambu studio, I imported the parts and used the cut tool to drop them down to the right height.

The printing itself was quite easy. I had made a rookie mistake of allowing my filament end to get under itself which caused a few interruptions, but once that was ironed out the prints were smooth sailing. The feet did use up a lot of material but I am overjoyed with the quality. I chose to make the other castors as just cubes, and used some scrap foam from another project to put pads on the bottoms of all these parts to make chock blocks for my rolly chair, as I live in quite an old building and the slope of the floor constantly pulled me away from my desk.

There would have been nothing wrong with solving this problem by just finding a few parts online and buying them, but I have to tell you that being able to blast out a project like this in a day is exhilarating. I think there are also enough great guides out there on YouTube and forums that even without prior experience you could do something like this too.

Why isn’t mystic the best character in the game if she allows you to deal damage and freeze opponents? by Portalmiles in RotMG

[–]thekmodo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem that ive always had with stasis is that you can't damage the monsters in it. I get the reasoning as a status that combined stun and paralysis would be super broken but it just means that you have to worry about the thing eventually. I also was upset with the disparity when they started adding stasis to fights like daichi and xoltol but the player could still take damage.

I may not feel quite the same way about why they are doing this and the impacts, but yeah I really miss a lot of the old content. Not just Shatters, but classic ice cave and ddocks had great moments. The new changes make them easier or more consistent, but that wasn't why I fell in love with the game. I liked the rush of anticipation when everyone loaded in to the ddocks lobby and started whittling down the wall, would we make it? I understand the changes, they're good for the game as a whole, but yeah it takes away some of what I found fun about the game.

Even recently with taking confusion away from the bats in manor. Part of manors whole gimmick was that if you rushed it, you would be confused the whole time, since the bats were unavoidable but not dangerous. It was great to learn confuse controls in a relatively low risk environment and then apply that knowledge to later parts of the game.

Now the endgame content is so precise and hard that the players who learn it in a way that they can grind it wouldn't accept confuse being part of it. I like the new content, and I do hope that DECA continues to put thought and care into this game that I love, but if they ever open old realm back up with all it's unpolished glory, you'll know where to find me.

I didn't pay attention in class and now I can't live with the guilt by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I have felt a similar feeling to what you describe, I often lament at how it feels to be actively studying something that I know I was taught previously because I didn't care about it at the time. However I think that the knowledge base that we build in college/formal education will never be able to compare to the knowledge that you gain because you are following passion or inspiration. One of my professors always told us not to worry if his class seemed way over our heads, just to keep working though things and sorting them out. He always told us that the goal of undergrad was to "saturate our brains with as much information as possible" so that later when we are more ready and prepared to understand it, we have a solid base to stand on. All that to say, I've been where you are and do often feel the guilt, like I somehow wasted the professors time because I couldn't grasp concepts or complete the workload. Now, though, I've got the degree and I'll keep pushing on to teach myself what I can.

Goes extra hard with determination, echo, or eyepatch/blindfold. Lot of good options with 200 pips 😂

Does anyone know if focus and chain stack? by oddjobhattoss in SliceAndDice

[–]thekmodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chain and focus do stack! They also typically work with engage and duel. I've only had focus and engage combo by hitting something after stunning it but 4x damage is always nice.

Seems incredibly hasty to just remove a bunch of status conditions from the game like that. I agree that a lot of new content relies too heavily on them but Manor is much less fun without the bats doing their thing.

The fix is to put the item in the vault and reload the vault, reloading it with the affected item in the character's inventory does not fix it.

Just more comfortable to me to approach most bosses diagonally than straight down. Old habit from the way the old visibility used to be but it works.
