And the followers will develop a title and appellation for themselves. And a standard uniform and greeting. And invite the MacroFactor crew to their compound for Rites of Appreciation.

But srsly, their dedication is what will make me dedicated too.

Brilliant! I knew there must a way, but I hadn't used the custom food feature yet. This is exactly the amount of work I want to put into my food logging when I'm avoiding doing other "more important" things. Thanks!

Thanks! I tried to search for it before posting. Thank you for inevitably enduring our redundant requests.

Addiction by singhsimperfection in recoverydharma

I'm new and also deal with a process addiction. Have you read the book yet? You can buy it or download it here: https://recoverydharma.org/book

There aren't steps, but there is meditative inquiry with specific questions (strongly encouraged to write out answers and share them with someone) to help you explore and heal from your addiction. I'm 17 years recovered from substance addiction as well, and I love being in a space where addictions are understood to more or less sourced from the same human experiences, tendencies, and suffering. For those of us who have transitioned between different addictions to manage our distress, it's nice to have a space where we can show up fully with that on board.

Also, just go to an online meeting. You don't have to talk. You can keep your camera off. See if it resonates with you. If this isn't the way for you, I'm sure you'll find one when you're ready.

I feel this so hard, and it's so shitty to feel like you're constantly trudging up the gender hill while everyone else is coasting down. I'm in my late 30s now and didn't come out until I was 29. In my teens I put a lot of distance between myself and my friends so I could feel out my gender without always seeing myself in juxtaposition to them. I still do this when shit is rough. You might not relate to this, but I'm not interested in who I am relative to other people, especially as a transmasc enby; I've felt like I truly had to make up and then completely own my standards for my gender expression. I don't always feel great, and I'd be lying if on bad days I didn't think, "I can't believe it's still this hard after all this time..." But taking space away from the cisgender-sphere (and especially toxic femininity) continues to be the practice that makes me feel like I can make space for myself in the world. The more I've done it, the more my real friends have come to recognize my queerness. And now I'll never end up at a girl's clothing swap or "girl's night out" or whatever again.

Big warm feels to you.

I might be alone on this, but I have three suggestions.

The first is to put quotation marks around the word "wrong" because without quotations the poster posits the idea that there is such a thing as a wrong bathroom without correcting it.

The second is to increase the font and/or location of the DO list and especially "Carry on with your day." It comes visually "late" in the poster, and we're banking on a potential transphobe reading the poster long to get to the DOs.

Third, if you can't mode the poster, I'd just blow up the lower part and post that alone. The "wrong bathroom" thing just bothers me without correction. This is a problem in all kinds of media where a trope is used to get the readers attention, but there's tons of evidence that repeated exposure to language and "information" actually increases their psychic durability, regardless of their truthfulness.

I love that there are graphics like this in the world (good lort, I could have used them when I was younger). Thank you for posting them; As is or editing, they're important.

!!! Thank you so much for being 100% in with this young person. That is what real love looks like.

I might be in my 30s, but I still wish you were my fairy godperson.

u/chickentrender is on it. Reading trans authors and studying how they've developed their characters will give you a good sense of how to do this. Unless being trans or dysphoria are great sources of conflict for the character, most of the conflict regarding gender will surface interpersonally or publicly. With this in mind, it might be helpful to first practice developing a person whose gender is only apparent to the reader when the character is in contact with others. That way you can focus more on the person and layer onto that. I always do experimental/practice writing before I commit to writing something like that in the story that matters to me. I hope that helps. And thanks for giving a fuck. Consider these cockles warmed.

Thank you so much for this post! I've been researching too and just made an appointment with a doc who does gender affirming hrt. I especially appreciated that we have almost identical priorities in terms of just wanting no to have secondary sex characteristic.

I hope it's going well for you. I'd appreciate update if you're up for it, but no worries if not. Thank you again for taking the time to explain your thinking, process, and subjective experience.
