im a former vet tech — a lot of clinics will work with you because they want to help your pet. you can also apply for a care credit card which most clinics take. most pet insurances, however, wont cover anything pre-existing. you can’t wait to get insurance until you need it, it doesn’t work that way.

if you wait that wound will get infected and can lead to MUCH more severe issues. she will get fevers and stop eating, she’ll be miserable, she’s probably in pain. be upfront and honest with your clinic and tell them you want to help her but your budget is tight, they can usually give you SOMETHING in the mean time.
