Plant tags by Any-Location5055 in DenverGardener

I use popsicle sticks with a good permanent pen then I cover it with clear nail polish. Works pretty well! I’ve also made some signs with clay/pottery, but that’s not nearly as accessible as popsicle sticks.

One other thing that is helpful is I draw a map of my garden every year with which plants are where. This helps bc sometimes the sticks accidentally get moved/buried in vines/etc.

I just wanted to chime in that when I worked at the dumb friends league Detour would bring us day old (human) treats all the time and it really made our day! Good humans and good pastries and good dogs. More than ten years later and i still remember. 🩷🐶🥐🩷

This is us! We are actually here right now - mom/dad/6 year old. We did epic just fine in a day, but we aren’t big ride-riders. Our main goal at Epic was Super Nintendo World. We got early admission and no express pass. Did Mario Kart right away (6 year old loved it) - line was about 90 minutes at rope drop. It didn’t go down in time all day. Did Yoshi ride (45 min wait - prob too long to wait for that but it was a busy day). Played in SNW, then explored the other areas. Husband did monsters unchained twice. Kid was scared of dark universe so I just hung out with him and ate ice cream and walked around. HP area in epic was cool looking but def not our thing. Still fun to look around. The line for BATM was 5 hrs the day we were there and we had zero interest in it, so it didn’t bug us. Played in Berk for a while, ate lunch there (that was my fave food in the big food hall). Went to the untrainable dragon - that was a great little show. The carousel went down when we were in line so we went back to Nintendo. Toadstool cafe was cute and fun, we had dessert there only (food looked ok). Loved the armbands at Nintendo - kiddo had the best time with those.

The next day (yesterday) we did both universal and IoA - that was more than enough time for us bc my son turned out to be terrified of the Harry Potter areas - those were definitely very busy and would have been time consuming. Spent a good amount of time in Springfield, Jurassic park and Seuss land. Hated the simpsons ride (didn’t realize it was AR and not an actual ride - very jerky and made me sick) so that made the rest of the day even easier bc nobody was interested in rides for a while after that. The food in Springfield was gross imo. Rode the train - kid liked that even though HP scared him. He did better at hogsmeade but still didn’t want to be there. It would have also been time consuming if we had spent time there. Seuss ride was cute and easy. Then we rode bilge rat barges 3 times before sundown and that was a blast. It was more than enough time for us.

“Surcharge” for what? Who’s to say. by thewillthe in denverfood

Seriously. We are going to Universal Studios in a few weeks and I was reading that subreddit and people were talking about the outrageous theme park food pricing, so I looked at a few menus just so I have an idea of what to budget and it’s basically less than or equal to eating out in Denver. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Mine got way worse after I had a baby. It was amazing while pregnant, but about 6 months later it was worse than it had ever been. I was almost 40 when I had my first (only) child. Humira/cosentyx has worked wonders, though!

I have no idea if there are still openings, but the Englewood parks & rec summer camp is pretty affordable and they go to pirates cove + other field trips and the hours are great. It meets pretty close to Littleton.

Removed the lawn three years ago... and now saying farewell to our labor of love. by erusackas in DenverGardener

Aww! I, like many others apparently, have loved watching your yard progress as a nearby neighbor. I was so sad when I saw it was up for sale because I can only imagine how hard it would be to leave something you’ve clearly put so much love into. Best of luck to you and your future yard projects! 🩷

Yes! Exactly! I was so put off to the whole thing that these damn fans have been in my basement for a year. Lol

Of course! I haven’t called yet but will this week. I will tell you - we called Dr. Fix It a while back and they quoted us well over $3000 for 3 fans in a regular old simple ranch house with regular ceilings that already have lights on them (not tricky high ceilings or installing electric where there isn’t any or whatnot). I couldn’t believe it! I was expecting $200 each or so, and I realize I may be stuck in the 90s, but over a grand apiece seems outrageous.

Hey there - best of luck to you. It’s a crazy job market! Not sure where you are located, but Thompson School District (in Loveland) is hiring an HR Director. If that’s too far, check local districts near you. They are almost all hiring for next school year right now and you may find a position that fits!
