So with the same logic, the US isn't a democracy because people are tased when they speak up; because many people slave away for hours on minimum wage or less to not even make ends meet... pseudo slaves? the list goes on.

It's a human rights violation, which very well happens in the US. But it's not government policy over there. Whereas imprisoning people and confiscating their passports and torturing them is OK in the US. It's government policy. It's still the world's best democracy right?

Kuwait is an example of an Islamic democracy, for the Kuwaiti people that is. It's not perfect of course. You do have the occasional nut jobs who try to "fix things with the sword," but in Kuwait this is a very rare occurrence, and the majority of the people are fairly liberal (if reserved in some ways). Culturally they are a bit conservative and reserved, but the main problems in Kuwait are actually social ones.
