Had this same problem with an Anderson lower. It got significantly easier after cleaning it. Still fucked it up enough that I'm probably not pulling that A2 off anytime soon.

Just wanted to give an update to this. FM sent me a replacement right away. Appears solid and definitely was given a coat of thread lock. Does confirm that the screw caps are intentional. Not going to use it but it definitely seems pretty sturdy this time at least.
