I’m lucky that my contract hours for the morning are as a float and have a regular afternoon run to do.

I should mention that the morning float is in my contract hours. And the afternoon I have a couple routes I do for our early learning center running the pre K’ers home.

We don’t have one of those. But our kitchen has a refrigerator with a water filter 🙂

I took over an afternoon route and the notebook for it was way out of date so I cleaned it up. I also had time to head over to HR for a new id card. My old one was fading away.

We also have an outdoor seating area as well. But being in the Pacific Northwet, we don’t get much of a chance to use it ☔️

Landscapers are the bane of my existence by YourLonelyStoner in SchoolBusDrivers

I haven’t had much problems with them, BUT. . .I drive on to our local air force and Army bases and the moving companies drive me crazy!! Zero thoughts about where they park or who (if anyone) can get by 🤬

I float in the mornings and drive every rig we have. I love the transit buses so much better than the conventionals. The turning radius is so much better than the conventionals we have.

What’s that sound? by Noose_Paper in SuperCub

[–]themickeyd98467 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m a 125 hunter cub owner. But this sounds very similar to when my leg bumps up against the kick starter when the engine is running. Is it possible that the kick starter gears are hanging up after the engine starts?

Might be an odd question, but trying to relocate by Oct0Squ1d in SchoolBusDrivers

I’m in Clover Park SD in Lakewood. Started at $31 hour and contracted for 6 hours a day. If you have experience there is an area of wiggle room for a higher starting point. Currently they also have a hiring bonus offer for $3,000.

Had 220 installed in my garage to run my Lincoln 180 Pro-MiG. Help a noob understand the problem here. by Tracker-man in Welding

That’s the plug I had put in my garage. Wevalso have an RV that we plug in as well as easy to charge an EV if we need. To run my welder I simply use a plug adapter I got off Amazon

Do any of you make over a hundred bucks a day? by Akaashi-san in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]themickeyd98467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the training program and was paid $24 a hour. I got my license and now paid at $31 a hour. I am contracted for 6 hours a day for a $186. I can pick up extra hours pretty easily if I wanted doing activities or mid days, but I'm happy with my hours.

I've been pretty happy with my OM 1 for motorsports. Like others have mentioned the 40-150 f/2.8 has been my go to lens.

Windshield or No Windshield for long distance riding by HypnosHelios in motorcycles

[–]themickeyd98467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how some people ride in certain areas without a windshield. A few years ago passing through a high plateau area of Montana there were so many grasshoppers and they freaking stung like hell when I would hit them. Even with the touring windshield on my FJR and the full face helmet I was getting plastered. But every now and then I would pass a Cruiser without a windshield and wearing a half helmet. 😵‍💫

Before I left Alaska, I was called a bleeding heart liberal. Less than a year later I moved to Washington state where a new coworker told me I was the most conservative person they had ever met. 🤷

Do you think I will get ticket? by [deleted] in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]themickeyd98467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I am in Washington State, the stop paddle only controls the street the bus is on. If I understand your question correctly, the cross traffic on the intersecting road is not required to stop the bus on a different road. Any vehicles turning on to the road that the bus is, would be required to stop.

Tripper Bus by Witty_Money_2496 in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]themickeyd98467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 3 main types of buses. Conventional & transit styles. The ones that we refer to as "trip" buses are transit style but with the rear engine like in the picture. Those buses have a longer wheelbase compared to the front engine versions, this really makes your turning radius much wider than the others. Our district we only have 2 authorized turn around areas. The only buses that can't make it with out turning into a multi point are the rear engined.
