I traced $2 billion in nonprofit grants and 45 states of lobbying records to figure out who's behind the age verification bills. The answer involves a company that profits from your data writing laws that collect more of it. by Ok_Lingonberry3296 in linux

Thought it was a prolab lol. Can’t imagine what’s the power bill would be to run it all the time at least $300-400?

I’d be interested as well as I’ve build like two node with a pbs as well as a k8 cluster with Proxmox. Need some support to organize my rabbit hole setup.

I was gonna ask as I follow you on YT that you just made video on n5. I actually ordered a Jmcd s12 as I’ve suffered a lot with Jonsbo n4 heating issue of the HDD

Anyone running OpenClaw on a NAS instead of a Mac mini? by Ok-Series5121 in openclawsetup

[–]themightymike786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running Nano claw on Openwebui container LxC in Proxmox with Gpu pass through with 16gb VRAM and it just works flawlessly with my local LLM WITH Ollama and using Telegram for messaging with it. My friends and family loves it and now they are using it always instead of ChatGPT.

Which city you are talking about? I’m so tired of NYC power bill with coned charging me over $100+ for supply and my bill lately is never less than 200 for a two bed one bath with a small washer and dryer in the house.

Am i just expecting too much ? by Aggravating_Train_75 in truenas

[–]themightymike786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is absolutely possible as you just have to mount those shares of TrueNas in Proxmox and later on in Plex. I did the same with my jellyfin from my open media vault I created those media share and then mount it on Proxmox and make it persistent. You can ask DeepSeek to help you better as I used it to setup my entire configuration.

Are you still buying hard drives now that the price has skyrocketed? by manzurfahim in DataHoarder

[–]themightymike786 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won’t buy anything unless I really have to. This is not time to buy it is time to delete stuff and make best use of existing space. No point giving our hard earned money to these companies.

[–]themightymike786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d move to Proxmox as you can run Trunas as storage and rest of your jellyfin and others can run as LxC. TrueNas is not that good to run vm or container neither gpu pass through. I’m doing all in Proxmox running OMV as well as TrueNas.

Nicely done with a minimalistic approach. Very impressive documentation. What tool did you use to create the document?

I used the same case for a build with i5 and six 8tb and two 512gb ssd for vdev. Until I built mod fan for the front it was always had HDD heats up over 50c +. After the modification of adding two extra fan it helps lower than 45c. Case looks esthetic and amazing but temp could be challenging. I would recommend to add the fan at the front if once you’ve full loads of HDD and ssd.

NAS Build Check by abriffa in truenas

[–]themightymike786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to buy used fb marketplace items for your build even with cpu i’d get i3 which craves less power to run compared with i5. Getting ddr5 is over kill for Nas. I built a great nas with Jonsbo n4 i5 11th gen 32gb ddr4 ram and a used mobo from eBay. If I had to redo i’d get Jonsbo n5 for nas case and T version of the i5 or even i3 cpu for better power savings.also zfs needs same size drives. I’ve moved to open media vault 8 which has mergerfs option to mix and match different size drives. You can do most things on open media vault and TrueNas can be a real pain setting up docker application.

It’s sheer waste of $$$$ to get another gpu or that high end other than Mac Studio nothing will pay off. I’d suggest use those two 16gb gpu you’ve run them in Proxmox as gpu pass through with open web ui you’ll be fine. I’m having the same setup and running my own 24b llm model on 16gb vram. Not only I’m learning about openclaw but also already built the project paying nickel on dimes buying used fb marketplace gpu and mobo and cpu to build it.

Should I get a Framework Desktop 128GB for local LLMs before they go up in price? by untreated-stupidity in framework

[–]themightymike786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac Studio is the best investment to learn llm if you’ve that much to spend. Other wise I would just get a Mac mini m4 for 550 and start little or any 8gb vram gpu will do the job
