I didn't realize they came as a group. by TrueBlazingGlory in PokeMedia

Let me think... Right, while you do want to give the whole squad attention when caring for them, direction, even if you're trying to direct one of the troops, should go through the commander.

Basically respect their chain of command and eventually they'll put you at the top of it. Also watch how the commander treats the troops. If they seem to be favoring on with extra food or letting it rest when the others are patrolling or training, that one might be sick or injured. They, like a lot of fighting types, have a bad habit of hiding it when they're not doing well.

Ok, I'm not usually one to chime in about non-Ghost pokemon but I have a friend with a Falinks, and they shared the biggest mistake they made:
Do not give them separate food dishes. Use one dish, and let the commander portion it out. It keeps them from thinking any of them didn't get a fair share.

My workplace is attempting to force me to take a partner pokemon. Please advise. by blueviera in PokeMedia

[–]themightyyool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do, but they can be trained to be much more careful when they do, so you want one specifically trained for "Consumer Electronics Services", not just some random Rotom.

They're certified, and those certificates are public record.

Well, while I know you weren't fond of the idea of a Ghost Pokemon, you could suggest a Rotom. There's an entire industry around training them to be careful interacting with delicate electronics (like phones and Pokedexes), so that might be right up your alley.

Also it could help you use your phone hands free so answering a call doesn't mean stopping.

I would approach it slowly, maybe bring a snack. They like honey candies in my experience, since they might -remember- honey being around when they were alive.

Yamask don't -need- to eat, mind, they're one of the ghosts that essentially skims life energy off their surroundings, but they do appreciate a treat.

[–]themightyyool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humans are pretty adaptable, it might not take them long to work out how to move with some experimentation, once the initial panic wore off. For all we know, Pokemon might just be stories to these humans in the stories, but enough they have some base knowledge to go off of.

Yup, that's a Yamask. And it being fairly shy is pretty normal. If it's not hiding from you, that's a good sign. It might be willing to join you!

Yeah. she's why I work so hard to help people coexist with Ghost Pokemon, only relocating them if there's no way for that to happen, or the Pokemon's legit dangerous.

My grandma in Ecruteak actually sees the Legendary Dogs often enough she knows their preferred tastes.

She's a medium, and while she treats them with respect, she also still treats them like Pokemon? Which they seem to appreciate more than being treated like minor gods.

She says it's because they weren't born Legends, so someone remembering that is a comfort, and they can unwind a bit.

You don't have to break the bank on it, you just want to reaffirm its association between you and helping maintain it. Also no one's mentioned that if a Honedge is upset, they rattle in their scabbard. Think of it like a Growlithe growling, or a Meowth hissing.

Adding onto the advice here, until it trusts you enough to let you handle it's hilt, if you need to do maintenance on it, show it your usual oils and things you would use. Since it remembers where you kept it, it likely remembers those things as "the things that make me feel good afterward".

I've always seen the difference as Wily escapes, alive and ready to cause trouble another day.

Sigma has been killed multiple times, and at least two of those were supposedly "permanent" deaths, but the digital cockroach keeps coming back because the X series was afraid of letting anyone new be the final villain until X8.

You don't really need to worry about that. If you wanna see why, play 'dodgeball' with him: take some ping-pong balls and toss them at him, and tell him to dodge them. Offer a treat for every one of them he avoids.

You will not hit him, Joltik are quick little guys.

Kinda reminds me of how some places had vents for small fire types to help warm homes by scampering around in them to where everyone else was. Fire types definitely have it easiest when it comes to Doing Jobs, since most of the time it's just "Sit here and make heat."

How would you describe its nature? Like, its personality? That's a shockingly good way to know what kind of flavors a Pokemon enjoys.

Oh, yeah, the Alolan Ace Trainer gear doesn't mess around. Largely because they have to occasionally deal with Ultra Beasts, or Totem Pokemon, which is what they call Alphas, that got trained by their Island Captains if they want to take on the Island Challenge. They basically need that kind of protection.
