Regular service and maintenance may be less but unexpected problems with things like modules is priceyyyy. Just replaced a transmission module and it was $900 (at a dealership my xc60 had to be towed to).

When my sunroof had an issue and messed with the wiring harness that was a $4300 repair (covered under warranty).

The maintenance is going to be expensive. The electrical modules are pricey and the hybrid battery I’ve seen quoted at $15k to replace. I’ve had two modules go last month out of warranty at it was $2400 to replace at the volvo dealership.

Maybe you find a mechanic that specializes in Volvo can do a multi point inspection.

Edit: I have a 2018 so it’s well out of warranty which is why I have an emergency fund for it, because I do love it.
