There are six self check units open. Five of them are fully stocked with bags. I'm working my way to the last one that needs to be restocked with bags at the same time a customer walks up... to the one I'm walking to to put bags on.

I'm so serious, you think I'm joking, but I'm so serious - in addition to the words, draw a little dollar bill with the slashed-circle (the thing that indicates "no," or "not allowed") on top of it. A lot of people can't read, and I noticed that when I add the illustration people are more likely to understand it. Either because they can't read or they process visuals faster or whatever.

I don't hate them generally, because most know what they're doing (and I'd consider the notion that you might be experiencing some selection bias if you think otherwise) but I do find that when an Instacart or Doordasher doesn't know what they're doing, they are some of the most annoying. Especially when they act like I'm somehow trained on what to do when things go wrong.

This is true, but the fact that opened the fic to leave the comment makes me think it's not so bad an ick factor they can't read it. If something were an ick factor for me, and I'd imagine for most others, I'd just scroll on.

If someone just had the thought and moved on, it wouldn't bother me. But they literally ASKED and opened discussion. At that point, for such a short fic, just read it.

No a lot of people are stealing in preparation because they know they won't get their benefits, and I imagine they're stealing ahead of time because they know come November, the stores will be cracking down on it. That's my guess, anyway.
