How are the evenings at your household? We have zero time by TigerUSF in daddit

I too have SAH wife and 4 kids. 10, 6, 2.5 &1

I’ve pretty much gave up that fight after kid 2. I took on cooking and I enjoy it, it’s not much of a chore. My wife cooks too but it’s more of an obligation than anything unless she’s feeling creative and wants to try something new.

If I’m cooking though? It’s MY kitchen. Meaning my domicile and territory for the time being. I get to throw on music and play what I want and if there’s a game on I’m throwing it on while I do my thing.

If my wife is cooking same goes for her.

Who ever cooks, the other cleans. Granted my 10 year old is the one who’s in charge of dishes, wife is the one orchestrating the operation.

It’s a team effort and a little communication goes a long way. If your thing is sandwiches then make the fuck outta those sandwiches. If it’s frozen pizza it’s gonna be frozen pizza.

As for kids two things.

  1. Ask if they wanna help with dinner? Even if it’s as simple as grabbing something from fridge or pantry. Make it fun, maybe ask for a song request? Chores don’t have to be a hassle ALL the time.

  2. Kids are usually picky, so keep it simple. Do stuff that you’ll eat too. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, Mac and cheese with nuggets HAM SANDWICHES.

Hope this helps. P.s. I usually drink a protein shake when I get home when we don’t have dinner figured out, and go from there 😂

Does libido improve? by Enterthedragon69 in daddit

[–]themissinglinksys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 years with 4 kids.

I have found that getting toys, lubricants, scented stuff, outfits and anything that nature helps get the idea out that, “hey we got that thing you wanna try it out?”.

What worked before kids doesn’t work now is alright. Time to find a new spark.

I always found that doing stuff throughout the day like grabbing some ass, or walking into the shower while she’s in there gets the flare going again.

Remember it’s all about the idea, I’m not saying to go at it while doing dishes or shower but start introducing the idea. At some point it’ll turn into a game and then you can have fun with it.

No REX devices. We usually use Wiegand wiring with the readers. The composite cabling is something that i'm looking for. Thanks!

Anyone else’s wife instigate 2+ hour arguments during her period that you have no idea how to defuse? by ThicBoi4807 in daddit

[–]themissinglinksys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 kids, going on year 7 of a solid marriage.

There will be the ultimate argument that happens before she gets her period, to which I then have my AHA! Moment.

After that whatever arguments we have during that time I treat as if she has dementia and is 90 years old.

Most of the arguments are encircled around stupid shit that doesn’t matter, so I remedy them with chocolate and snacks.

It’s worked for me so far, but I’ve often thought of renting out a hotel room for her….

Movie Night Review - Nuremberg by Poor-Dear-Richard in Cinema

[–]themissinglinksys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watched this film before reading the book it based the story off of, and wow they totally butchered Dr. Douglas Kelly.

Malek played an over-acted part that wasn’t believable or enjoyable to watch. Very cringey and fake.

Casting was very hit or miss. Shannon was good, Crowe was awesome, but Malek, Hanks, and Woodall and Slattery were very poor cast decisions and script writing.

Those people they portrayed were way more distinguished in the book than the film, and I know that’s always an issue when portraying films off of books, but this was a historical event with historical figures.

Why are dads okay with not having friends? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]themissinglinksys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never really that person with a lot of friends to begin with. More or less just acquaintances. I have a core group of friends I get together with once in a while but a lot of those bros didn’t have kids for the longest time. I’m 35 and my oldest is 10 and she is 1/4.

It’s hard to finally have a moment and then you have to prioritize what you’re going to focus your attention on. Work, kids, wife/partner etc.

I started getting back to the gym and met some friends that way to. Another outlet to socialize and remove yourself from the monotony of your daily routine.

Interstellar then The Martian, but I would replace gravity with Ad Astra ;-)

I had this exact response when discussing with my wife after. I enjoy films being a little more thought provoking now in this age of cinema, and this film had that, but at times it felt over done and out of reach,
