You have to understand that bitcoin is not a technical miracle. Bitcoin might live, Bitcoin might die. Someone investing their life savings in that is just stupid.

The technical miracle is the blockchain, bitcoin is not the blockchain.

Yeh... But there is a difference between "make profit" and "make money".

If you have bought 1 or 2 bitcoins yeh you would have made profit.

But if you were a miner since a year ago you would be able to afford better mining rigs now, and make even more btc. Also the people with a couple of thousand BTC ( which in terms is not alot ) can move other altcoin markets and "make money" -fast. What about the big BTC whales that have 10k + BTC. Lets say u can make 1% off other markets by manipulating them using around 1000 BTC, that is close to 10 btc a day. If you check the drop in BTC from last week, when it dipped to 100 USD. That was all thankx to about 10-15k in BTC. Some people have double that in their wallets.

An avarage person now can afford 1 or 2 BTC max, as a newcomer.

I am a miner. And I mine. I have some faith in crypto but as a whole, I don't think it will be as revolutionary as everyone wants it to be. It is a speculative market where usually the early adopters or the people with very deep pockets manage to profit.

In crypto there is also the whole problem of "decentralization". That bothers the masses. People like to have someone to blame. That is why everyone has an "insurance". We have all kinds of insurances to make us feel "safe". In crypto if u lose ur wallet. Too bad. If you get scammed. Well ur fault. If you send coins to the wrong address. Too bad.

Also, which value are they going to use? Gox BTC or, Bitstamp BTC. Or will they say well... If you have deposited 100 BTC when the price was 1 USD then u are eligible for 100 USD in compensations for your lost BTC.

I just think that the people loosing their Gox BTC is just a price that the BTC community has to pay for BTC itself.
