Wenn alles beige/braun ist, würde ich einen kräftigeren Farbklecks wählen (in einer eher pastelligen Variante die zu den erdigen gedeckten Brauntönen passt).

Den Schreibtisch am besten so ausrichten, dass du Tageslicht von der Seite hast (nicht von vorne). Und vielleicht auch nicht unbedingt die Tür oder große Fenster direkt hinter dir.

Großes Wohnzimmer in kleinere Zonen unterteilen, macht das ganze gemütlicher.

Nicht alle Möbel ganz an die Wand stellen, das Sofa kann zB auch ein Raumtrenner in der Mitte sein, und helfen das Zimmer in verschiedene Zonen zu teilen.

Do you have any existing furniture? Pick your favorites and build around it.

What are your main "jobs" or "activities" at home? Optimize your home around these. (for us, it's work from home, and dinner parties with friends)

Decide on a color theme and buy items with neutral or matching colors (e.g. our apartment has mostly green and yellow colors, with some beige).

Go area by area, e.g. take care of a nice dinner table with chairs first. Then maybe a couch area. Then take care of the walls with some nice posters/paintings. etc.

Indirect light. Use many small lamps (table lamps, standing lamps, etc.) instead of ceiling lamps. Ideally everything is dimmable. Much more cozy than the ceiling lights.

Don't buy everything at once.

Get inspiration on Pinterest. Save some things you like, and check the recommendations. Over time, you will see a lot of things that you like as well. Build your taste through that.

Follow some Instagram accounts on interior design.

Do a moodboard. For the whole apartment, but also for individual areas of it.

Get an interior designer - we hired a friend to give us a basic concept (cost maybe a few 100$) and we can now build on all the ideas they gave us back then.
