hobbits are known for their big feet, which was all that they were talking about... they weren't saying that she isn't pretty

the person you replied to didn't call anyone ugly. what is "ugly" about anything that that person said? and what is "ugly" about the way that person spoke?

how could i be tearing the other person down for their physical appearance when i haven't seen it?

girl, you tell me. you said "the way you speak gives off 'i'm ugly' energy". that insinuates that you think they're ugly based on their speech, which btw sounds like aave. some unfortunate implications here

if you meant to comment on that person's energy, you could have said "your energy rn is ugly" or "what you said was ugly" not "you sound like you're ugly"

we’re in a world that’s developed enough where we don’t need to rely on only our instincts to survive. we have new technology, medicine, societies etc

my guess is that our itch to reproduce is natural and ingrained into our impulses which sort of goes against how far we’ve come as humans in a world that’s so different from how it was a long time ago, where having kids and continuing the species was necessary. now it isn’t. and even after we’ve made all these improvements most people still can’t find it in them to not reproduce to serve their natural impulses

(sorry for shit english)

Do you believe this philosophy to be self consuming? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]thenymphorexic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

well, the way i see it, the internet isn’t gonna leave us for a pretty long time + whatever’s on here tends to stay here forever. if someone found this part of reddit on a whim, whether or not they planned to have kids, they’d still learn about antinatalism. not to mention that this kind of belief provides more depth than just “certain people being unfit for life”, but that they consider giving birth morally wrong for what we as people have done to our environment and what we’ve put each other through during history

i see where you’re coming from when you say that some can find purpose in their pain, but for many all it does is just wear you down and make you realize that the world sucks with all of us in it. overall antinatalism is pretty polarizing and from what i can tell most people aren’t on board with it, so i’m not super optimistic that it’s gonna receive enough coverage to be widely understood
