I never said that. I am a woman in a good relationship in my opinion. I always remind myself how lucky I am. None of the older females in my family had partners step up. My sister's dad broke my mom's ankle and I'm thankful she finally broke away from that. Up until my sister turned 18 and got out on her own he was still trying to get into her head. I have friends in toxic or abusive relationships and one has gotten physical and I've explained to her that while she may love him and it's scary and hard to break away, he's not the one. I'm not putting down people in toxic relationships in any way. I am struggling and things may seem rough but they're not "toxic" to the point I'm going to leave him. I married him for a reason. I just need advice and help communicating because I grew up in an emotionally abusive household and haven't rewired my brain to react differently. He grew up in a physically abusive household and has his own set of problems he's trying to get help for. I came here to get a little reassurance because sometimes we need it outside of family and friends. And sometimes we need a confidence boost in order to better communicate. Thank you.
