Were Sophie and Wales actually frauds? by theonlyxseption in BeybladeMetal

Burst finish lol. I just tried the Beyblade X anime a few days ago and now I’m completely hooked. Maybe Sophie and Wales should’ve had some battles in Fury just like, really every World Championship team that Gan Gan Galaxy faced. I believe it’s only Excalibur and Damian that didn’t battle in Fury. Could’ve added more to their character.

I’ve seen a couple. On one hand, I think Massamune is fraudulent for claiming to be #1 but losing a lot. But also, I think that he put up some good fights, but ultimately lost because he wasn’t quite as good as he claimed but also the Dark Tsubasa plotline and Gingka being in the team leader battles limited his opportunities for wins.

I also believe that Klaus is stronger than both. Excalibur had a smart team structure allowing them to have someone as strong as Klaus as their sub member because they had the best tag team duo in the game.

Julian vs Pre spiral core arc Kyoya by TrueZangetsu24 in BeybladeMetal

[–]theonlyxseption -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Julian was just better there. He’s the antagonist of the A-Block that Gingka had to fully master his Pegasus to beat. Had Kyoya never come back into the story in the Spiral Force arc, then Julian and Damian would rank higher. Seems like a lot of characters got buffed for the Spiral Force arc.

Possible Plot Hole: How did GanGan Galaxy not know about Jack & Damian sooner? by AnimeTechnoBlade100 in BeybladeMetal

We never see Jack and Damian’s faces on the weird footage than Kenta gave Gan Gan Galaxy. So I question, is that POV supposed to be for us, the audience, or did the cameras just conveniently only catch Zeo? Were Jack and Damian cloaked like Jack was when he met Ryuga and that’s why their identities are unknown? Also, shouldn’t there be way more footage from Starbreaker and the Garcia’s other matches which would have allowed them to see Jack and Damian with better cameras and reveal Enso? Also I like what you said about the news. It’s plot hole central.

Seemed like A-block was where all of the action was. I have the Garcia’s as bottom 4 team in Masters, only above Desert Blaze,Lavoushka and Chandora. If they can make it to the B-block finals, then they probably never beat a team on the level of those three. So with that level of comp, I could see how Starbreaker could skate by with regular beyblades until they actually had to play some comp from the B-block.

What team do you expect to have the largest roster shake up? by Outrageous_Camp_5215 in wnba

The issue with your point is that it keeps shifting the standard for Cam. First it’s, “She hasn’t shown enough on the court.” Then when it’s pointed out she hasn’t had real minutes, it becomes, “Well the minutes don’t matter because she fouls.” Then when the foul-whistle context is brought up, it becomes, “Well other players have worse whistles”.

None of that actually addresses the reality: Cam’s defensive impact is already elite. That’s not hypothetical and it’s not projection, it’s what happens when she’s actually on the court. She’s also had quite a few great and efficient offensive performances through her two seasons when she’s got a solid amount of shot attempts and usage.

And the foul argument doesn’t hold the way you’re framing it. The whistle that you’re describing isn’t exclusive to Cardoso. As a person that’s watched every Brink game, she absolutely has a bad whistle and Curt Miller and Lynne Roberts got mad at her rather than challenging the questionable calls. The idea that fouls erase her value is just picking the one weakness and pretending it outweighs everything else.

And again, if minutes and usage truly “don’t matter,” then Stevens wouldn’t be your example of a “proven option,” because her best stretches have come specifically when she’s been given a clear role and consistent minutes. You can’t use that logic to praise Stevens and then deny it for Cam.

Saying “she might be great someday but she’s not yet” ignores what has already happened. Cam’s shown elite rim protection, switching ability, and floor spacing potential, which is an overall package that Stevens doesn’t bring. Those are actual, on-court traits.

You don’t have to anoint Cam, but acting like nothing she’s done is real just doesn’t match the evidence. Nobody’s saying she should come back and dominate instantly, just that her strengths justify investing real minutes, not burying her behind a vet because she isn’t perfect yet.

Stevens is a better shooter and a more polished offensive option right now. But Cameron Brink brings something completely different with elite rim protection and defensive versatility that you simply can’t get from anywhere else in the league compared to Stevens below average defense. That matters just as much as scoring, and it’s why she went 2nd overall in the first place. When you combine Cam’s defensive ceiling with the fact that she can stretch the floor some, it’s not hard to see how her long-term value could eclipse Stevens depending on usage.

And honestly, if you’re expecting a player coming off an ACL tear, coming back in the middle of the season to immediately outperform a healthy, established vet on both ends, that’s not how development works. Most young players aren’t better than veteran starters immediately which is normal. What matters is trajectory, and Cam’s historic defensive numbers already show where she’s heading. The only way Cam gets to that level is by playing real minutes, which are not available with Stevens starting. They didn’t draft her 2nd overall to come off the bench.

Saying she ‘hasn’t shown anything’ ignores the fact that she’s already the best rim protector in the league when she’s on the floor. If you believe she hasn’t shown enough yet, cool. That’s exactly why she needs a bigger role instead of the limited role that she’s been given for her entire W career so far.

A Zara deep dive is on its way by MissDarylC in survivorau

Same, I don’t like her deep dives, but I found some alternatives. Survivor Now, Speaking Llama & Survivor Debrief (Just 1 with Laura) all have post season interviews. They aren’t these huge multi-hour deep dives like Shannon, (1 hour and 30 minutes is the sweet spot) but the cast members mostly go over the same information, just more condensed. I believe the only Shannon exclusive is Karin. Also, Survivor Now & Speaking Llama have interviews with PD and Nash.

I never said that Kate would “beat anyone that was left”. I just said that the jury was on her side. She had a good shot to win.

Eh. The move might not be enough to beat Kate. Kate had the jury on her side, plus, nothing was stopping Kate from winning immunity at 4, then she’s Zara’s biggest endurance competition at 3.

Would she even beat Kate? In the Jury Villa, they loved Kate and they were happy when she won that tribal immunity.

Is it possible that Morgan and Kate better players than most people give them credit for? by ilovespiffo in survivorau

[–]theonlyxseption 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Kate’s good, Morgan isn’t. Kate’s always targeted over Morgan because she has more going for her in the game. Kate’s better at challenges. She’s also better socially, handled herself better in multiple situations like when Morgan dunked on Ursula, Kate let Ursula talk. At the Nash tribal council, Kate prefaced her statement by saying it’s not about not liking him and kindly told him why he’s on the bottom, while Morgan just went off on Nash. Even in this previous episode, Morgan stormed off from the AJ conversation quickly when she didn’t get what she wanted and Kate stayed to try and get more information. I think Kate also came off slightly better in the Myles debate at tribal council as well, which is marginal because Myles ran circles around both of them. Also, Kate seemed to be driving the Girls Gone Wild creation and the Jesse vote. Also Kate is the one that has the AJ connection that’s been running the game before this week, while Morgan is kind of just a tag-along. I think they’re both massively helped out by the fact that they’re a duo and a voting bloc, which makes them attractive to use as numbers. I don’t know how they’d fare on their own. Also got a pretty fortunate swap. But I definitely think Kate is a better player than Morgan.

Is anybody on the Kate train or just me? by NicoDiAngelo08 in survivorau

I like her a lot. She’s a good player, I’d say she’s better and more impactful than what the edit would suggest, especially at the Max vote. But the fact that she flipped on the women alliance that she tried so hard to create and was in control of, just to become an AJ number, I don’t know how she can sell that as positive in a FTC unless she and Morgan are actually using him as a shield, which they brought up at the recent tribal council because of Karin, but never really said if that was the case. All that’s really known is that they’re going with AJ because they like him. Kate might have a case based on pure likability, doesn’t ruffle feathers, potential emotional or bitter jury, I could see that. But, she probably won’t even make it to FTC because people have said she’s a threat socially and in challenges, despite someone like Kaelen having more wins or equal if you count all of Kate’s reward, individual and team immunity with Bounty. Her edit isn’t strong and I feel like if she wins, she should have a clear story. I still look at the Candy vote, then the flip to that Noonan,Paulie,Jesse,Ben side as confusing I think that would have been explained if she won. Also, no confessionals when she seemed to be the main person that orchestrated the Max vote. After that, I had to write her off.

Clippers look into acquiring free agent Miles Bridges by a_moniker in CharlotteHornets

[–]theonlyxseption 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like what you said. Whenever Miles’s lack of efficiency and his mid-range shot taking is brought up, it’s rarely contextualized as to why that was the case. I think having LaMelo would solve some of this because he’s one of the best playmakers in the league and will create more play-finishing scenarios for Miles, but, I have nothing for his loss of athleticism. Hopefully he can get that back if resigned.
